Why do people put knives in gun photos?

I think knives and guns go great together.

I like seeing photos of "outfits," rather like Zen.45's photos above. And like someone else's comment, a lot of the stuff in the photos seems almost unused. But I suppose the logical reason is because what we see in the photos is what people have on hand "for display purposes." The everyday stuff just doesn't look good in photos.

The exceptions are there, of course, to prove the point. Some Western gentleman has posted lovely photos of a 4" S&W Model 29, with about 75% of the bluing remaining. And there was the recent photo in the thread about holster cant of the black leather jacket and police rig. Nice photos.

It's called "composition." They're trying to make a good picture. Apparantly, from the OP, they're not succeeding.
