Why do people put knives in gun photos?

Can someone explain to me why so many people insist on putting knives in gun pics? Yes, I understand that many gun owners also have knives. Many car owners also have lawn mowers but I don't put them together in the same photo.

Hunting guns and skinning knives make sense if it's a hunting related pic.
Non-hunting guns and a pocket size folding knife? Where's the reason for that?
All they're doing is cluttering up what would otherwise be a fine picture of a gun. :(

I think the knives look cool next to the guns. I believe it's because knives are often used together with guns. Like a holster, belt, bullets, etc.... I don't take any of my holsters to the range, but I keep a knife in my shooting bag. A lot of people have them on their belt right next to their guns.

I would assume people do so because of the correlation between the two. They both represent weapons of some sort or purpose.

In the case you mention, both are adequate self defense tools. Unlike your assosciation of the car and the lawnmower, where neither really have a commonly shared purpose.

I understand the connection between handguns and knives are far as being self defense weapons... But I have no interest as all in knives and understand the OP's desire to have gun pics without knives in em.

If it offends you, look away !!

Because they don't compliment each other, like "Ladies" and cars. Guns and knives, are easy on the eyes ..... :D

Be Safe !!!

Is this better? :p

I carry a Tactical Folding Knife along with my handgun concealed for self defense and I feel if my gun goes down on me I can always fight with my knife besides my fists and feet.

I love knives and while I like pictures of guns by themselves, I also like pictures of guns with girls or knives or watches or whatever.

Dave P, couple of nice Randalls there and I just love that Dog!

lol Dave P, just need a gun in that picture and it'd be perfect. No one would mess with such a well armed puppy! :D

I would guess often it's either because they have an interest in both, it's a theme(like a kentucky rifle with a horn/bone handled fixed blade) or it might be their EDC.

For me they're a pair. I carry my Benchmade pocket knife 100% of the time and I carry my LCP as much as possible (97% of the time)

It's also kinda showing off. I'm very happy I have a Benchmade and the shooting community appreciates quality hardware.

Blades & sidearms...

Because it's cool! ;)

Really, I have no real problem or issue with it.
Many smart gunners & armed professionals tote a high end blade with them or carry it while armed. It makes a lot of sense & small knives can be handy.
