why are my groups so terrible?

Have a friend load a magazine with a dummy round, You won't lnow where it is and when you pull the trigger on the dummy you might get an idea of whats wrong. Flinching or bad trigger pull is usually the culprit.

Stance isn't nearly as important as many would have you believe. As long as the sights don't move until AFTER you pull the trigger you'll be good. Notice I said after you pull the trigger and not when you start to pull the trigger.

there are many, many valuable points listed here. Heed them.

I recommend 15 yard target. That is what police feel is the distance when a shoot out might occur.

Next. place your pistol on a firm platform. Rigid as can be. Then sit down and hold pistol firmly. Take a good sight picture and squeeze (like a lemon) the trigger SLOWLY. Also, have someone stand next to your shooting eye. See if it blinks as or just before you fire. If you blink because you know the report will be loud, you probably lost your sight picture just before firing. Last, put the PAD of your shooting finger tip on the trigger. Don't put trigger in the finger joint. Squeeze until weapon fires. Check your shot.........

Now, if standing do not hold weapon up for any length of time. The longer
you hold it up, the more chance of wavering back and forth.
Bring gun up, good sight picture. Squeeze off. Like 1, 2, 3
Don't think you learn to be a good driver in 3 lessons ?? Shooting is the same....practice, practice....................
