My other vote also goes to the CZ. I can only compare it to 92fs, sig229, glock 19, and H&K USP, those being the 9's I've shot. As far as I am concerned I much prefer my CZ. Though the Sig came close.

While I love my Glock 19 and carry it during these hot months, I voted for the CZ75B. Great durabilty and reliabilty, with phenominal accuracy.

I see that many of you like the CZ. I too have one of the early orginal models without the damn firing pin safety .

I think most people like them because they are very accurate and cheap in price.

I have found that their workmanship in no way is in the same class as say a Browning High Power. I have examined both orignal CZ's and some of the newer ones. All of them had gritty trigger pulls. Outside and inside internal finish was not in the High Power class either.

Don't misunderstand me. I like my CZ but just because it was cheap to buy doesn't make it a superior weapon.

I will take the Sig Neuhausen P210 first. It outshoots every other handgun I have ever owned. I will take the Browning High Power second because of its workmanship and its accuracy. W.R.

Wild Romanian: It is interesting that you have found the trigger pulls of 75's "gritty", they have long been reknowned for exceptionaly smooth trigger pulls, particularly before the inclusion of the firing pin safety (B). I have owned both pre-B and B models and tried many others and always found the trigger pull to be way above average. It is a bit long, but if kept at half-cock (it's really more like 1/4 cocked) it becomes much shorter. Or do as I do, cocked and locked! As to quality of construction, I see no other maker that is better. I see a lot of EQUALS (Sig, HK, etc) but no one that surpasses the CZ's. JMHO.

CZ-75.

Nobody in the Western world can afford anymore to
make all steel pistol with such great quality and sell it at such
a low price.

Besides all, Czechs are known to make first rate weapons since
middle ages, so there is no surprise their designs are so good - they understsnd the essence and they got traditions.

Hey Bub,
You left the very best off of the list!!! I will just chalk it up to ignorence. For the answer, read the Signature line. ;)

To Glockorama:
I was not talking about the double action pull of the Cz. I was speaking of the mode of operation that most people use when the shoot thier CZ's. That of course is the single action mode. I am also not speaking of any of the custom built CZ factory race guns either.

When shooting my own CZ or examining my friends CZ the single action pull on the stock factory 9mm CZ's that I have examined is pretty damn poor. Also any one who has owned and stripped down say a high power or Sig Neuhasen and then stripped down a CZ or even just gazed at the external finish of say the High Power and the CZ could not fail to see the tremendous difference in the workmanship between the two guns.

I like CZ's a lot but they are in no way in the same class as the High Power and accuracy wise the Neuhausen beats the hell out of all of the other brands of pistiols I have owned or shot. W.R.

Wild, I have never owned that model Sig (had a 226 and a 229), but have owned just about every other major handgun at one time or another, including a Hi-Power, and, while there may be some internal cosmetic flaws in CZ's (ie; machine marks, etc) I do not see it big enough to justify the jump in price. Outwardly, I have found CZ to be just as well built and finished as any handgun on the market. You know how long it took to put wear on the finish of my Sigs or Glock? Weeks, if not days of carrying. My CZ still shows no signs of wear (both leather and kydex holsters). Again, we are comparing superlatives here. Of course a Sig 210 is more accurate (and probably tighter built) than a CZ--it also costs 3-4 times as much. I don't think it is 3-4 times better than a CZ. JMHO

:D :p
