Lets see the way TFL members split up on this never ending question. Out of you experience and knowledge who makes the overall best 9 mm?

All that you mentioned are great guns, my vote goes to Beretta, but I dont think they are any better than Glock, Sig, or some others. Just personal preference.

Some of this depends on a person't preference in pistol type. If you like DA, I'd say Beretta. If you like Glock's safe action system, then get a Glock. If you like SA, there are many fine choices out there. Then you also have 9x19mm wheelguns.

Your question is not well thought out. There are pistols made for concealment, pistols made for target shooting, pistols made for police work, pistols made for military applications. One pistol can never cover all these catagories.
I am assuming you are like most folks who use your pistol for weekend plinking. If cost is no object and this is what you are going to use your pistol for then the Sig Nuehausen P210 is probabaly the most accurate out of the box 9mm pistol in the world. It even beats many custom built guns. My well used P210 shoots 1/2 inch 25 yard groups at 25 yards with cast bullets.

Is it the worlds best military pistol. Probably not. Is it the worlds best concealable pistol, most definately not. The point I am trying to make is your question was not specific enough. It covers too many catagories. W.R.

Greeting's All,

Being that I perfer a true double-action first shot, I voted for the Sig-Sauer. This is the set
up that I'm acustom to with the very fine Sig
P220A in .45ACP.:D:)

MOLON LABE!!!

Well he did say "Combat" tho didn't specify which of the many 9mm cartridges.

Assuming 9X19 was inferred....I went for Hi Pow.

Would rather use 9X32R for most anything tho so if that was an option would choose Smith 19 for wheel and Coonan for auto.

So many guns, so little money.

another vote for CZ

CZ!
My CZ 75B mil has been a dream. Some people may buy extra magazines for their weapons, but I think I'm going to have to invest in barrels as much as I've shot this thing. I love it.
And for the price, there's no excuse not to have one.

Voting for CZ

I've owned most popular brands HK, Glock (Carry a G19), Beretta etc. or shot them. Today I bought a CZ75B, new with a 10 & 15 rd mag for under $350 with tax. Freaking tack driver, 1-1.5 inch groups at 25ft , for fun I ran the second target out to the end of the range beyond where I could see a hole and fired 3 times once at the head and two at center of mass. Brought the target back and had a high head shot and two center of chest shots.
Today I really learned quality isn't always linked to expense...
Glad to see some other converts voted for CZ also!

Sig P210 followed closely by the Walther P88.

Differences in one being hand fitted on the bench and the other a production handgun.

Make it in triplicate..

CZ75

I own, or have owned at least one variant of the above "listed" brands except S&W. IMO for value and quality the CZ75 wins hands down..

What about Lugers or Walthers (Kurtz) and even Mausers-which were actually used in combat?

What about H&K?

The only S&W 9MM outside of police issuance I've seen are the stainless ones currently carried in Cambodia.

The only "combat" 9MM in your poll is the Browning HP, which has seen real combat. The Glocks, Berettas, Sigs, etc. have only seen limited action in Desert Storm, the Falklands, Isreal/Lebanon and the Balkans.

The best gun (or 9mm) is the one in your hand when you need it.

My other vote went for a Walther. Specifically a Walther P88. I think the Sig P210 should also be on top.

P99

CZ75

I currently own Glock, Smith, SIG, Beretta, H&K, Walther and CZ 9's. And the one that always goes with me to the range is the CZ.

Take care!
