Who is satisfied with the handgun(s) they own?

I am very satisfied with my current guns, if I ever get another it will be a play gun.

I currently have:

S&W 640, Coonan Classic, 357 Magnum American Derringer, S&W 627, Ruger New Vaquero all in 357 magnum

I all so have a BFR in 45/70, NAA mini revolver in 22 short and a Ruger MKII

I am very happy.

I'am

I have never had a problem with any gun I have owned.
Glock 17
Ruger Super red hawk.
Beretta Nano
EAA witness p 9mm
EAA witness p.40
S&W model 28-2 Highway patrol
Taurus 689 stainless
S&W 686 stainless
Ruger SP101.
They all have been perfect.

Who is satisfied with the handgun(s) they own?

The collection has changed quite a bit over the years. That said, if my collection stayed the same for the rest of my life, I think I'd be OK with that.

The guns I've divested myself of, most of them, I'm well rid of. (Except the Makarovs. I came out ahead on the trades, though.)

Cheapshooter's rules of gun ownership #1: NEVER SELL OR TRADE ANYTHING

Oh you must be like those guys I seen on videos, who have giant buckets of holsters. :D

I like my guns, besides my carry G19) Taurus 94 is my fav, 3k+ rounds and I am happy.

I realized recently that I am quite happy with my collection. I only need one more python and I will have the kids/grandsons covered and I want a 1911 (commander size) in 9mm. I am even thinking of selling one of my vipers to help finance the python. I have enjoyed not only the collection, but the collecting as well, having never bought anything online. I'm one of those rare (if you trust everything you read) people that enjoys gun shows and the thrill of the hunt, so to speak.

Happy with what I got but I do want to add a few more. Don't think I would sell any I currently own, but have sold a few over the years. I do not regret sellling any that I have sold either. Unless the gun is hard to find i do not see the purpose in holding on to a gun you don't like. Most people have limits on what they can spend and there are too many guns out there to keep something you don't like

I love my wife , my son, granddaughters, my daughter-in-law and my dogs. I am fond of every gun I own. The best gun,the one I have the greatest fondness for is the one I happen to be holding at the moment. It like what I tell my grand daughters when I take them out for ice cream or shooting one at a time. I tell them "Your my favorite granddauther" it's true at that monent. I have 4 fantastic girls.

carprivershooter, well said.

I have every handgun I've ever purchased. I do have one, an XD 45 Tactical, that is a perfectly fine gun, shoots well, shoots accurately, does everything right. But it's the red-headed stepchild of the collection. That's only because the poor thing is redundant, and doesn't particularly fill any niche.

A friend of mine lent me a West-German-manufactured P7M13 for some range time that has me in thrall. I'm willing to trade my truck for this pistol. What a strange, brilliant piece of art! I thought two of my 1911s had the crispest triggers of all (a Colt and a Springfield Armory). Until I met my latest love. Hmm. How much should I offer for that baby?? My first-born is too old to bring much in trade value! :D

Satisfied with my handguns? Of course I am... because with one exception, they're all Rugers!;) Meanwhile, allow me to affirm and expound on an excellent point the OP made: Always hold out for what you REALLY want. Never settle. If you do, in all probability, you won't be satisfied...and come to think of it, that logic applies to a whole lot more than just guns.

I only have one handgun at the moment. I am only 20 and it is a hand me down. I don't ever plan on getting rid of it though. I would rather just have a big collection.

I'm with cheapshooter. I have never sold a gun I have bought for the last 30 years. I have average buying about 8 a year. So I have accumulates a healthy amount.

Me!

For some reason I never seam to be satisfied, have gone through a lot of handguns and am still looking for the perfect one. As a young man there were guns I wanted but could not afford, now when I get them they don't meet my expectations and get sold or traded.

Having spent a lot of time in the woods, I keep a couple of guns for woods or trail carry (but my body can't cash the checks that my mind wrights). At some point there will be two 22 handguns and a S&W 38sp and the rest will be sold. For now I am still looking for the perfect one and will keep some of the near perfect ones. :D

Browning Buckmark .22 (older slabside model)

SIG Sauer P226 9 m.m. (older German model)

Have the funds to buy other handguns, but why mess with success -

Not saying they are the best for everyone ;) ... but in my 'little world', they both run like a Swiss watch, are easy to clean, hold their resale value, and (most important) challenge me to be a better shooter.

I am dissatisfied with one:

I am the owner of a Jennings .22 and it simply will not work other than as a single-shot.

OTOH, it is a pretty little thing. So, I guess I'm just partially dissatisfied.

I like all the rest of them well enough.

I aspire to be like my hero, Cheapshooter, but I can't yet afford it. So, there are some things out there that I want a little more than some of the things I have, so I will trade...

Best,

Will

As of today I am perfectly satisfied with the four handguns I now own and don't expect to either sell or buy any more.
Of course, as my life circumstances and tastes changed over the last twenty-five years many have come and gone. IIRC the number was twenty-three. Not counting the four I've got now.

If you mean am I satisfied with how the guns I have perform, then I'd say 100% on almost all of them. If you mean am I satisfied with having enough guns, then No way! :D Of my 2 primaries, I am 100% happy with my 92FS for the range and 100% happy with the Cougar for home defense/self defense. I still want 1 more smaller gun for summer carry. Those 3 will fill my 'needs'. After that there will be an infinite number of wants to keep adding to the 'fun' guns.

My advice ... follow Cheapshooters advice!

I can already tell I am going to be one of those guys with more guns than they have fingers and toes. I have my first 4 purchases planned out and I don't even own a gun yet. Combine that with the fact that I am a "pack-rat" already and my new found hobby and passion (firearms/shooting); this is a means for a beautiful disaster. My poor future wife..:D
