I would like to make two comments.

First, MO doesn't have CCW. When there was a chance to pass one several years ago, the story was that the VT carry guys made such a fuss that the legislature killed what was a typical shall issue bill. Good job, tinfoil
hat brigade (I am really pissed today).

Second, it is interesting that some folks carry firearms and won't intervene to save an innocent. I subscribe to some other lists. On one we had a heated debate on the following scenario. There is a hotel where I sometimes
keep visting firemen. It is a nice place.

One night, a looney attacked a little girl in the hallway of the hotel with a crowbar.
He was trying to stuff her into a bag to take her into the torture van. Luckily, family
members heard her cries and saved her.

Since, I drop off folks there alot, I could have easily run into this scene. I opined that I would make an intervention that rhymed with Clock :)

You would surprised at the number of folk who just said you should be a good witness and call the police. Wussy-ass *%*$*_)%.

I'm a little uptight about this stuff as two days one of our neighbors, right across the street, was found murdered in her house.
Beaten and strangled. The SO got to talk to the detectives. I guess if I was home
and heard it - I should be a good witness.

It was probably a domestic so it was a quiet crime.

As horrible as this slimebag's crime is, what about the mother? What the hell? Leaving a child in an unlocked, running car while she goes into a shop? I mean, come on folks, there is more than a little responsibility for this on her shoulders. You don't leave out what you don't want taken. This is not a perfect world and there are enough animals around to take advantage of any opportunity. I'll wager she never leaves her purse sitting out like that. Isn't it a sad statement that someone takes better care of their money than they do their children?

Before you flame me, think for a minute. I believe that this creep deserves the death penalty. However the mother is by no means blameless however much she is suffering for her stupidity.

Very emotional subject, but, back to topic.

You could have shot him, only if you happened to be walking down the sidewalk as he exited the parking lot.

I seen the creepo on the news, looked like a crackhead, (but I'm sure he'll be in a suit & tie when he goes to court).

Anybody notice the "boo-boo" on his head?

He won't get the death penalty. He was charged with SECOND degree murder. RATS!!!
I still think they should die as their victim died. I'll drive!!!!

Gwin I was wondering when a comment like yours was going to appear, glad I didnt have to be the one to post it, I also figured the heat would be on. These thoughts are understandable, they are human nature and that is what the LA cops are being accused of in the N Hollywood shoot out, "just let the scumbag bleed to death" funny how these two seem very similar, havent followed the shootout case, but knew on that day it would be in court someday. No matter how bad the guy, better to let the court deal out justice. If you think not, watch the end of the movie "falling down," "I'm the bad guy? how'd that happen?"

Disgusting. The crime, the response and the title.

MY GOD.
I would have tied him up to my bumper and dragged that bastard around the block or two myself.
May God have NO mercy in his Soul.

I think I am going to be sick...

Yesterday in Brisbane Australia, a Mother left her BABY in her car for 2 HOURS whilst she was gambling in a Casino.
Temperature inside the car peaked at about 65c (149f).
The baby died....
So who is MORE to blame here, the woman who LEFT her child in a RUNNING car OR the one who left her baby in a LOCKED car ?
Just a different perspective on human tradgedy & stupidity.
May both the children rest in peace....

An entire box of Hydra-shocks emptied into this POS would remove ANY possibility that this monster would ever somehow skate. How could anyone do what he did, and think he'd get away with it? He doesn't deserve the gift of life.

While I agree that the judgement and punishment of criminals should be handled through the courts, I also think that the system isn't working very well. It seems that most folks here agree, or else we wouldn't be trading recipes for do-it-yourself justice.

BTW, cases like this highlight the absurdity of the "capital punishment is too expensive" argument. Does anyone really think that the average American taxpayer, who's already being forced to pay over $5000 a year for everything from the occupation of Kossovo to Al Gore's photo ops, isn't willing to cough up an additional $0.50 to end the career of a child-killing car thief?

HS,

The mother who left her child in the running car is certainly not to blame for her child's death. That is solely the responsibility of the guy who stole the car.

2nd. degree homicide? What a crying shame.

Folks, as incredibly stupid as this mother's actions were, she'll live with this until her dying day. I remember an America where leaving your child in a car when you picked up a quart of milk was not criminal negligence. God help us all and my prayers to poor Jake and his family.

Getting unwieldy. Go ahead with Part II.

And guys, I'm not going to apologize for my response. I've calmed down some, but I still want 5 minutes alone with the jacker, immunity from prosecution, and an industrial stapler.
