Who doesnt like Glocks ??

I seem to be on the same wave as others here. I had a G22 and I could fire it pretty accurately, but the gun just didn't "sit" right in my hand. I also didn't like the "snappy" recoil of the .40, but that is besides the point. On the same note, I don't fire Berettas that well. I can't figure what it is with them, but I shoot my Ruger P94 in 9mm way better than any Beretta I have fired. I wish I did like the way the Glocks felt, because I would have a G19.

I wouldn't say I hate them or anything, but I'd say I find the triggers to be "squishy." I have been unable to warm up to the slippery feel of the grips, and grip sleeves make them feel fat. The dept. reloads are not easily digested by the ones I've seen. I have firsthand knowledge of some Glock service/repair policies related to "catastophic failures" that make me uncomfortable. Too many negatives. Reliability? My Smith has that in spades, why switch? Can't see myself owning one unless something drastic happens.

I like them because they are black and I think we should save them "for the children".I dislike them because they smoke and some of the larger ones will not fit in a mini-van glovebox. I wish they were made in China so we could give them "most favored gun status". They are legal in Cal and Mass as long as the barrel has been removed (for safety).Oh by the way I am running for political office.

Yeah, I hate glocks. I hate my G19. I hate the way it makes one ragged hole at 10 yds. I hate those inaccurate head shots at 25 yds. I hate the way it has been so successful that the local IDPA shooters are switching over. I hate the ease of carry and short clean up time. I hate not having to keep track of all those parts in the field. I hate the finish that never rusts here in the Texas heat and humidity. I hate all those rounds in the magazine. Most of all, I hate making excuses as to why I shoot my Glock better then my 1911. :)

Dont hate them as they are good guns. They just dont work for me. I have tried to like them, but cant. Wife on the other hand loves hers. I'm spoiled I think. First gun was a Hi-Power, then HK USP. After that I made the mistake of trying a 1911 and fell madly in love. My Wilson is a keeper.

I'd like to offer up my experiences yesterday with respect to accuracy of the Glocks.

I went to the local outdoor range with a good friend of mine. Hadn't had the AR or my Savage 10FP out for a while, and we both had a day off. Anyway, I knew the range had 25- and 50-yard lines as well as its 100- and 200-yard stations. I wanted to try my G19 and G21 at 50 yards, since I never had.

The range had several steel silhouettes set up at 50 yards, and I popped them with alarming regularity. I'm talking about 29 out of 30, not just 8 or 9 out of 10.

There was also a 1 foot by 1 foot piece of steel out there with the silhouettes, so my buddy and I decided that would make a good little contest. He had a G17L versus me and my G19.

I hit 20 out of 20.

Anyone who wants to say that Glock just isn't that accurate hasn't worked with them very much, in my opinion.

And this is coming from a fellow who swore up and down that he'd never own a Glock in a million years. Now I've got two, and I swear by them.

Thats it, they are not accurate UNTIL you give them a chance and adjust to them, I was the same way, shot and bought Sigs every chance I got. Then I started carrying daily and thought that my P239 just wasnt cutting the cake as far as being comfy carrying for many hours at a time.

Got a G27 and havent looked back since. To me the Glock is beautiful to look at in the sence that there is nothing else on the market to confuse it with, I love the color, I love the shape, I love how easy it is to clean these things and I can honestly look at mine with confidence that these guns will last me a lifetime. My Sigs that I have owned I have loved every one of them but they are not nearly as tough as Glocks are if you ask me, my P228s finish stated showing holster wear after a couple on months and I couldnt stand it. My G23 is going on 8 years old now and barely shows any signs of wear at all and it has seen its way in and out of holsters beleive me.

I will be honest, I shoot my Glocks better than any other handgun on the market that I have had the chance to shoot. IMHO I dont think there is a better concealed carry gun on the market that can beat out the Glock 27 when you combine size, weight, capacity, durability and raw power. If you carry daily and are looking for a nice switch I think you need to give one of these a shot, I forget its even on me and I carry it IWB in the small of my back.

If it seems like there is a cult following for Glocks I think that has to do with the number of them sold on the market, how many people own them and just the way that they get the job done hands down. People are fanatic about them because they work and they just keep working. If you can get used to the Glock machanics there should be nothing to hold you back, there is just to many good qualitys to pass it up, if it doesnt work for you move on.

There is a gun out there for anybody and everybody, I found mine in the Glock and Sig, nothing else will do.

And everyone that scorches the accuracy of the Glock need to realise that THEY are the problem not the gun. Go check out a GSSF match next time one comes to your area and let me know what you think of their accuracy then.

Cheers,
~Jason

106K. If anyone else feels they must talk about their dislike for Glocks, they are welcome to start part 2...
