I would go GP100 if you only have one pistol. nothing wrong with Ruger auto's though. I have a P94 that has NEVER had a single problem. They are not bricks either. Grip isn't nearly as big as a beretta 92 and the slide is kinda squared but is not too big and plain works. Either gun will serve you very well, just personally I would rather have a revolver in .357 for my only pistol.

I like Rugers, I have five. I'd go for the p-90 .45 acp. 7+1 if I'm not mistaken, buy a couple extra mags. More fire power. I have a p-85 that has never malfunctioned in 17 years of shooting.
The revolvers are good too, I have 2.
 
I doubt that Renfield needs any additional input on this since it is now almost 3 years old.

(Not to mention that "trigger happy" was already "different" in post # 54.)
