Which revolver would you choose.....

S&W M58 .41 Mag. A M24 would be nice, but I don't have the money or knowledge of the location of one right now.

Ruger Convertible

Ruger Blackhawk Convertible 4 5/8" barrel (.38, .357 Magnum, 9mm)

I only own one semi-auto (SIG P226-Navy) and it's a safe queen now.

Ok, so this is a thread back from the dead, but since it has already been resurrected, I'll chime in:

For me it isn't so much which I would choose if I couldn't have an autoloader -- I already chose, autoloader or no.

My primary SD handgun -- autoloader or not -- is my 4" 686. I would pick this over an autoloader -- any autoloader. BTW -- I really don't consider "primary" and "CCW" to be one and the same. I consider a "primary" to be more of a full-sized service handgun.

I still just don't feel as comfortable with an autoloader, there's this nagging feeling I get that there just MIGHT be a feeding failure at the worst time. I don't have that feeling with a wheelgun. I'll take my 6 reliable hard hitters and a speedloader or 2, thank you.

Ok, so if I had to use an autoloader, I'd do so (and I do, CCW/backup), but I'd still have that nagging feeling that Murphy will raise his ugly head right at the worst moment.

Out of the revolvers I've had experience with, the Ruger GP100 4" .357. But I'd like to try the S&W 686P 7-shot.
