Which Patriot, Forefather most influenced your life?

I meant to say that the way they communicated their ideas gave me the impression that a person didn't have to be Christian or any other religion to live in America. Both men were fairly educated, Jefferson DID have a copy of the Quran after all, and especially in these times where there are more people from different places, religion really has no place in government if you REALLY want equality.

P.S: To stay on topic, I always found it rather bizarre that Washington was a terrible general, but his oratory skills are what kept his men together.
 
George Washington. Even if you've never heard of him, he's the Founding Father who most influenced your life if you live in the U.S. As one historian put it, he was "The Indispensible Man." Every history of the Revolution that I've read has supported that description. Whatever his faults were, without him, the U.S. as we know it would not exist.

NOTE ADDED: I just noticed that Buzzcock posted a similar sentiment.
