Which one would you 'bet the farm' on?

CZ-75B,,,

I can't remember the last time I had a failure with it.

With the obvious exception of first setting the gas system, my FAL, an SAR-48HB, has never failed with at least a thousand rounds through. It is my "old reliable," along with a Ruger Mark II.

Rifle: LMT CQB16 (AR15, .223) Made in Milan IL U.S.A.

Handgun: SIG Sauer P226 (double stack 9 mm) Made in West Germany

I haven't shot or owned or gone into combat situations with every gun imaginable, like some people claim. BUT.... I happen to own the above and trust them fully.

Handgun- S&W Model 66 2 1/2"

Rifle- Remington Model 78 Sportsman (plain jane 700) .270

Shotgun- Winchester 120 Ranger 12 ga.

I'm not a gambling man, but if I had to, I'd pick my Daewoo DR200. Apart form operator error (like forgetting to chamber a round) it has never failed to go bang when I squeezed the trigger.

Fifteen years, 7k+ rounds. Wet, dry, sandy, dirty, frozen, muddy, steel cased ammo, brass cased ammo; doesn't matter it always works. Yes, I've beat the hell out of this rifle, and she still takes it like a champ:cool:

mp-15

my smith and wesson mp-15 is my favorite.its a reliable low cost ar and shoots like a dream.she always lets me know when she needs cleaned when i pop a fresh mag in and it acts a little sluggish on hitting the chamber release.ive put about 3000rds through it since april. it dosent like laquer coated steel cartridges though. its my first ar,and im very impressed that it makes 3-400yrd shots right out of the box.

rem 870

to highvel-yes the rem 870 is awsome too. i have a rem870sp with rifled barrel that just loves meeting new deer.you cant ask for a better slug-gun.the 870 is one of those models you can drop in a mudhole, pick it up,drain the water out and keep shooting and clean it later that night.

I must lead a charmed life. The only firearm I own that I wouldn't rely on at the moment is a new Dan Wesson, which had a number of failures to feed its first time out. These appear to be magazine related. When I swapped out the DW magazines for Wilson Combats, the problem vanished.

I have a Springfield Armory that doesn't like wadcutters. Since I don't carry wadcutters, this isn't really a problem.

The firearm on my hip at this moment is a Series 80 Colt's Commander I bought used from DownbyFive, who was (may well still be) a member here. As a matter of fact, it was he who supplied those Wilson Combat mags. Truth be told, I do love this pistol.

As for a firearm that will fire in spite of gunk, rust, crap, dirt, that would be the SKS, which was giving us decent groups in spite of its relatively abused condition.

For a pistol I'd trust in a tight situation and a shot I had to make, it'd be my Python. For a rifle, if my life was on the line and I had to make the shot, I'd reach for my Sako 270 or my Ruger tang safety 220 Swift. When I put my hands on either of those rifles, I absolutely know that I can do what I need to do or might need to do.

There are others, but if I was betting on it going bang when the trigger was pulled, I would give great odds that a Ruger 77 MK II, an SKS, or a Ruger Blackhawk would fire.

I have several that I would trust. Two that come to mind (because they did protect me) is a 1911a1 (that I used in SE Asia) and my Model 28 Smith ( I carried in LE).

100% reliable? My Browning 71 in .348WCF! ...but not very practical.

I would pick any of the centerfire rifles, shotguns or pistols in the front of the safe... Colt AR, Socom16 (to be honest, I've not had one problem that was related to the rifle...) or my Mossberg 12ga. On the upper shelf I have any number of revolvers or automatics I would take (5 DA, 2 SA, 3 autos.)

On the contrary, none of my rimfires do I consider 100%, they all suffer from occasional failures usually related to mags or ammo, but they do happen.

I have an old M1 Garand in beater grade, must have 5,000 rounds through it, not a single malfunction but for the old surplus ammo that split a case, no harm to the chamber or bolt.

handgun - My old faithful S&W 64

Rifle - Remington 700 - 270

But all of mine perform well enough for me to trust them to go bang.;)

The AK-47 and my favorite Win. Mod. 94 sleep beside me every night to protect my farm. I sleep very well as do the rest of the livestock out in the pasture. I have absolute faith in both of them getting the job done.

Of all the guns I've owned over the years there were only four that I would trust my life with an the last one on the list has been giving me headaches lately but it is more than 15 yrs old with well over 30K rds so it's had a long life.

Sig P226 9mm. 5K rds without a failure.

Sig P229 9mm. Almost 10K rds before selling it. Only one fail to feed.

Ruger GP100. 1500 rds and it still feels new. Friends have the same gun with 20K+ rds without failures.

Beretta 92F. Great gun 10K rds ago. Has 30+K rds through it and has been giving me problems for about a year. Think I have them worked out but it has to prove itself again.
