Which Manuf. has BEST Customer Service?

Wilson Combat ... is the best on 1911's that I've ever seen for warranty work, rebuilds, etc - and quick - not cheap but I think you get what you pay for.

On production guns - I only have limited experience personally. I would probably say SIG is one of the better ones. Based on what I hear - Springfield, S&W and Glock are both doing pretty well.

I hear bad things about Taurus like Jim said - but I don't have any personal experience.

As I build a collection of handguns I wand to know I can get GOOD customer service if I need it, so.....

so.....does that mean you are willing to limit yourself to one maker only? Otherwise, find yourself a GOOD local gunsmith, who knows and can fix all of the types of guns you'll be accumulating. (Colt revolvers, especially, are notorious for needing a properly trained smith to fix them)

Springfield has been astronomical in my book from warranty to custom work on all of my XDs and 1911.

Ruger has treated me well.

HK was middle of the road. To be fair, they never had the chance to make good since I sold the firearm.

I have not one good thing to say about Kimber.

Seecamp repaired my 20 year old gun "No questions asked"... I was impressed. :D

Parts only but Sig, Kahr and HK have always shipped very fast.

S&W is the only one I've had a problem with.

Best I have had so far is Briley, Springfield, Glock and Kahr. Worst by far was Kimber. They acted like I was bothering them to call.

Definitely a vague question. You may get to chat with a real person on the phone, get the gun back in two days...but if the gun still isn't fixed, is that customer service?

Case in point. Ruger doesn't have an official warranty, but they are known for taking care of their customers anyway. I had a problem with my 22/45 not feeding hollowpoints and they sent me a new bolt. Obviously didn't fix the problem.

Sent in my CZ for a feeding problem, "no issues found". Separate problem on a carbine, turns out the magazines are defective. They weren't interested in my fix.

HiPoint. Sent it in three times on my dime, sent me back two magazines every time "for my trouble". I'd rather them keep the mags and reimburse me the $150 in shipping costs!

Etc.

What affects the rating of customer service? I had my FFL send a CA-380 back to Cobra Arms that I bought from a pawn shop in an unfired condition with no box or paperwork. Cost me $12. Cobra Arms called and said it had to be replaced. A week after sending it in, they sent my FFL a new one and everything that came along with it (box, paperwork, et c.) and a spare magazine for my trouble. Oh, and return shipping was on their dime. Thankfully, my FFL didn't charge a transfer fee.
So, off of that experience I would say they did well.

I have had to use both Glock's and Kahr's customer service. Both of them were good, I have no complaints.

I sent a gun back to Ruger 20 years ago. Minor problem. They fixed it.

Other than that I've never had a problem so I can't say.

Springfield has been astronomical in my book

I have to agree with you on that one, Tuttle. Springfield amazed me.

The only thing about Smith that ticked me off was that I bought one with a rebate/mag offer (only reason I bought it), only to be declined because my paperwork was postmarked 1 day late. It kind-of upset me just because it wasn't my fault. My ffl took a few extra days to get it to me.
I understand rules and all, but it would have made a big impact on me if they had helped me out in that situation.

Which Manufacture provides the BEST overall customer service?

One thing you'll have to keep in mind if you buy used guns is that not all manufacturers extend the warranty past the original owner.

It's kinda relative to your own personal experience, but having said that I have had great service from Ruger & Smith and Wesson.

Ruger does not seem to care about the age of your gun or warranty coverage. They just send the part or do repair without question. In my case, they even paid the shipping.

Smith & Wesson has been great. I am having some re-finish work done at this writing. I have called them several times related to the work being done. I get a real person in about one minute. They are knowledgeable and give prompt courteous answers. Not much else to ask for.

Many years ago Colt did good work for me on my new (then) 1911, but that was so long ago it probably doesn't count. Never had an issue with my Springfield. Never had an issue with my one Taurus, but I hear bad things about their customer service.
