Which is the most accurate hand gun you own?

The most accurate hand gun I own is a Colt Series 70 Gold Cup I purchased in 1975. I only use semi wad cutter mid range loads in it and its accuracy is outstanding. It even gives me an eerie feeling when I’m firing it; as though someone other than myself is actually doing the shooting. I know I can’t shoot that well and I sometimes think it’s sensing everything I do wrong and compensating for it. Wouldn’t it be neat to really have a gun like that!

Out of the pistols I own and have owned, my Glock M30SF is the most accurate. I almost think this is an anomaly because I have handguns I've paid 3x as much for that can not beat it. It shoots all varieties of 45ACP, but it loves 230gr Gold Dot.

Out of a lot of handguns I own, or have owned, in general, I think I have to say the most accurate one is the T/C Contender.

Maybe it is the quality of the barrels, or maybe the single shot mechanism, or maybe its me, subconciously knowing I have only one shot, I don't know. But the best of my repeaters matches the average of my Contender, and most don't do as well.

I do have a bit of fun with it, in 9mm Luger. Get into a discussion of the accuracy of their 9mms, and then claim "I have a 9mm that I bet will shoot a tighter group than yours". Make sure, (if they bet;)) they understand its all about group size, only. Then, when they drag out their GLock, S&W, Sig, etc., I spring my ringer.:D All in good fun, of course. And, I haven't lost yet.

The T/C Contender; I don’t think I’d put my Gold Cup against that one either. I should have omitted it from the competition.

Mine is a Ruger 357 50th Anniversary. I sent this gun to Bowien Classic Arms for a Western Classic conversion with the Deluxe Tune upgrade. Also had him hand lap the barrel and reconfigure the front sight. The package included crown and forcing cone work tightening up the cylinder tolerances, smoothing the action and trigger job along with the addition of a internal trigger stop. It shoots way better than I can thats for sure.

I own a couple of TC Contenders and I don't think they should be considered apples/apples in the accuracy question.

My most accurate pistol otherwise is my "Dancin Pony" Gold Cup National Match .45.

I love that gun, she and my wife and I sleep together all the time:eek:

Mine is a 40+ year old S&W M41 22 cal pistol.

One brothers most accurate handgun is a Series 70 Colt Combat Commander which beats his Gold Cup NM pistol.

Other brother has a Ruger Single six bicentennial model 22 caliber nearly as accurate as my S&W M41 and the only reason it isn't is because our old eyes can't hardly see that skinny front sight anymore. Lots of hand guns between us but those 3 are the most accurate.

Remington XP100R in .260. I've got it sighted in at almost 200 yds. It will shoot far more accurately than I can.

I have a S&W 4506 .45 ACP that, out of the box, is just incredible. It's just such a shooter! Unsung, big lug of a pistol, but it really shoots well.
