which inexpensive handgun should I get next?

hello all,
not one to be content with the reasonable collection I already have, I'm searching for a good value handgun in 9mm, preferably full sized, and preferably under $400 with shipping and handling. lately I've been considering the EAA SAR B6P, EAA witness, and the Bersa Thunder 9mm. I've never laid hands on any EAA products but I've dry fired the thunder and although the trigger travel is longer than a transatlantic flight next to an infant with an ear infection, it's extremely smooth and not overly heavy. does anyone have any experience with any of these or have a suggestion for something else that fits the budget?
options I've considered and decided against include the Taurus PT111, FMK C91, Hipoint C9,and SCCY CPX. please no recommendations for used, and please no recommendations to save more money.

there aren't any tristar dealers near me any longer, but rest assured I've considered them as well, they just come in over budget most of the time.
I already own a Canik TP9SF and am very impressed with it thus far.

A Star Super B 9mm. Look on GB. They are still widely available as surplus for under $300. They are high-quality steel service pistols. It is similar to a 1911, but with a BHP locking system. I don't think you will find a better quality pistol for the money.

Oops, sorry, I didn't notice the thing about not being used.

My full-sized steel Witness is one of my very favorite handguns.

I like the look of the Stoeger Cougar. Almost bought one but got sidetracked. I had a Bersa Thunder 9 Ultra. It shot good but I felt it was a little heavy to cc at that time. The EAA Witness looked good but I have no actual experience with one so can't really say.

I'm with the Cheapshooter. It appears that Tristar is the importer for Canik, using their model numbers and not names as they did when they began importing under their name.

Tristar model P-100 is my Canik Stingray. This gun is a clone of the Cz compact mini. It's between full size and compact, all steel. I absolutely love the Canik. It performs consistently and I do enjoy the weight, helps to balance recoil. However, I'm not certain I would ever carry this particular gun simply because of the weight. I'm also not a fan of having a hammer with a carry, simply my personal preference.

You can find this (as well as anything else) on Gunwatcher.com, don't need to be concerned with a dealer near you.

Happy shopping.

Stoeger Cougar . . . exact same gun as the Beretta Cougar except now made by a Beretta subsidiary in Turkey.

Can usually find them at Academy Sports for under $400.

Alloy frame, 15+1 capacity and comes with 2 mags, nice DA/SA trigger with decocker, accurate and totally reliable . . . great gun!

another vote for the Stoeger Cougar. I've had them in 9mm and .40s&w and they have been very durable, reliable and good shooting guns.

And what does the "reasonable collection I already have" consist of? IMHO, discounting new, $400 doesn't end up leaving many in the corral for a full-size 9mm. Maybe an RIA 1911 or a Turkish clone, but that's all I can quickly come up with.

Everyone needs to realize, Tahunua WANTS a "budget" gun. He's mentioned in several threads, including an earlier one about him buying a TP9 a couple months ago, that he finds these cheaper handguns interesting, even though he can get Glocks, Smith's, Springfields. Sounds like he's like me, he's interested in something different.

My recommendation would be the Stoeger Cougar, since I love the M9/92FS. The Tristars also seem to have a very good reputation though, and I love CZ's. I like the EAA offerings too, but have heard their customer service is lacking if we ever need work on these budget guns.
