Which handgun that you personally own does your heart like the most?

Not the gun your mind likes most of all.
It can be for any reason or no reason at all, it just is.

There are many Colts I have and treasure.
There is a Freedom Arms .454 Premier grade that I am fond of as well.

I'm getting increasingly fond of my Colt Anaconda 4" .44; I reckon that's the one for now. I still wish it was a .41 but such never existed.

All of them. I can't show partiality to the kids, it wouldn't be fair. Jealousy is a terrible emotion:eek:

The one pistol I wouldn't part with is the High Standard HD Military that was passed to me by Dad. The others are all replaceable.

My little ATI commander sized .45ACP.

Yeah, by most standards, . . . it is a no-name, inexpensive knock off of an old standard.

BUT, . . . if fits my hand perfectly, rests on my hip like it was made for it, . . . shoots where I aim it, . . . and doesn't hiccup.

Now, . . . if I could just get it gold plated, hmmm....................

May God bless,
Dwight

Ruger Security Six 4" SS 357 MAG . NEW 1976.200 YR LIBERTY. Surived one divorce, 2 home roberies, lost in the snow hunting. Shoot it every chance I can.

What a good question. I have a limited collection by some standards. A couple of Glock work horses. Several 1911's, including a stainless Gold Cup Trophy Match. And a few Sig P220's.

The standard answer applies here, I love em all. But for some reason I do have a favorite. It's not stainless. It's not the prettiest gun I own and it's not the biggest. It's not a rare or expensive gun, although it's no longer made.

It's a little Sig P220 compact in SAO. It is a soft shooter that fits my hand. With just enough grip that my pinky doesn't hang off it. It has a sweet trigger for a non 1911 and it's easy to carry.

For me it's a toss up between my S&W 25-5 which my dad gave to me shortly before he moved away from the area and a Walther PP which was also my father's. I received the Walther along with all his other guns after he passed away in 2006. The Walther was his daily carry gun but the S&W was his favorite DA revolver. I actually think the S&W is my most favorite because he gave it to me while he was alive.

The handgun I own that gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling every time I pick it up is a M1911 that I built from an Argentine Sistema. I bought the pistol for $200 winning an auction at Auction Arms. It was rough, real rough, but it was a low serial number, one of the first wave made with Colt steel and Colt tooling, so I knew it had potential. I shot it from a Ransom Rest at 50 yards, 14 inch groups. I then striped it down and threw away everything but the frame. Started slowly but surely building it back up into my own “Custom” pistol. Took me about 3 months over the winter. Come spring I clamped it back into the same Ransom Rest, 4 inch groups at 50 yards. I was actually disappointed because I was hoping for 3 inch groups. So I bought another and did it again. This time the best I could do was 5 inch groups. So I figured my luck had run out and I would have to settle with the first as my best. Never sell that pistol. Never! I have a 3 inch M1911 but didn't build it myself, so that don't count.

Then comes my Beretta 92FS that I did a trigger job on and installed a barrel bushing. Yes, a barrel bushing on a 92FS. Very accurate pistol. Keeping that one forever also.

The one I am shooting at the moment, whichever one that is. 1911, S&W 642, SP101, etc. Can't really favor any of them over the others.

Good thread!

My most accurate pistol is my High Standard Citation:

EDC is either my Kahr PM9 or my Para LDA Carry 45:

Prettiest is my Springfield Armory Ultra Compact V10 (sorry, Denezin)

But closest to my heart is my 1947-built Sistema Colt in its bare-naked (blue all worn off) best (I'm looking for a pic).

sgms: that's the kind of gun people say if guns could talk...fortunatley yours can, through your family.
That is a nice 1911.
Mine would be my 1917 DWM P08 Luger, then my S&W Model 66-2 snubbie, they both feel at home in my hand.

Why don't you ask me to pick my favorite child?! Seriously though, probably my very first handgun, a Ruger Single Six. P.S.: Aarondhgraham, that's a really sweet Smith, but I sure as heck hope that's a paint chip on your statue!!;)
