Which Glock

Glock 36 gets the nod

The only "Slim-Line" Glock is the ultimate in versatility for CCW. My 36 is an all time carry gun in the summer, and backs up my full size Kimber CDP in warmer months. I can carry my 36 on the ankle (it's ther right now in a fobus rig), IWB, or OWB. I'll stay out of the Hi-Cap go 'round....but I'll say this: If you've carried a 1911 type for CCW, you're betting your life on your ability to make your shots count when needed, and are comfortable in your ability to reload under stress. When you view it from that perspective, the 36's capacity is not a down-side...it accentuates the positive.

I bought a Glock 26 anout 6 months ago. I've got to tell you that I LOVE this gun. It conceals very well in anything from a quality $80 leather holster to a Cheapo $10 Holster. You may have to get used to the shortened grip or just get a mag extender. IMO 9mm is plenty for CC. Of course that is just my opinion. Ammo is much cheaper which will encourage you to practice with it more. However, make sure that whatever gun you get you are comfortable with it. That was the truest thing is was ever told and will be the truest thing you ever here.

I'd have to say the G27...

Most of these folks that buy the G30 and G36, then load them with fast 165's.......

Duh!

You can get fast, if not faster 165's in the .40 cal G27, in a much smaller package.

The only reason I would go with a .45 Glock would be if I primarily wanted to shoot heavy 230 Grainers......which like I said above, most G30/36 owners don't carry..

Believe me, the Winchester 165 Ranger SXT's (Talons) that I carry, are hard hitters!!

Border Patrol issues the Remington 155 JHP, and this stuff is hot too.... try it, you'll see what I mean..

Law Dog...

The only non 230 grain stuff I shoot is the new CorBon Power Ball, which has an interesting concept behind it. I'm waiting to see if more data comes out on the round before carrying it 100% of the time for CCW. My normal carry round is the 230 Hydra Shok. I will say that I know of a good deal of .45 shooters that carry the 165 grain stuff, which IMHO is not enough weight for a .45.
