This has to be one of the lamest attempts at Glock bashing I have ever seen. For the record, I have owned three different Glocks and after tens of thousands of rounds I have never had a KB. For that matter, I have never had a FTE, FTF or any other malfunction. Maybe I will start a thread "Which 1911 did you blow up?"

daffy duck:

My brother has a 23 with approximately 20,000 rounds through it with no KB's. Believe it or not, he is still using the factory barrel. I have, however, witnessed a KB with a Sig 229 .40. Guess the guy didn't know that Sigs don't KB!!

You will find that most kb's happen because of poorly reloaded ammunition.

As a new member, this thread made me question weather or not I wish to even participate in this forum. Trolls dropping in to stir up the pot is one thing, but Mark IV Series 80 is a senior member. This type blatant opinionated product bashing reflects poorly on the entire community, especially on the moderators for allowing it.

Hello Tag and Midian,

This poll is not an attempt to bash Glocks, it is a request for information.
It seems that there is a thread on TFL or GlockTalk about some kB'd Glock every day.
Many people would be too embarrased about blowing-up their Glock to admit it on the Forum. The poll allows these people to respond annonomously.
I posted the question on GlockTalk, and seven people responded that they had kB'd their Glocks. In this poll, we are getting more results, and these results are in a more useful form than the responses from the GlockTalk post.

I own a G17 and G36, and I haven't had any malfunctions from day one.
The same thing can not be said about the Gov't Model or Commander. Both required extensive "break-in" periods, and the Commander had to go to the gunsmith to achieve 100% reliability.

I like both the Colt 1911-types and the Glocks.

This poll has given us some good information.
I think I will stay away from the .40 S&W, and not only in Glocks!

IMO, the .40's appear to have less of a safety margin than the 9mm, .357 Sig, and the .45 ACP.

Since your poll asks nothing about the type of ammunition, the condition of the gun, reasons for the kb, etc. any results are worthless. You could ask this question about any other firearm and get the same number of responses, if not more. This is yet another example of someone making a decision about a pistol and a caliber based on incomplete, innaccurate, misleading information. You are gaining nothing by gathering this information.

I saw a COUNTERFEIT .40 caliber G-L-O-C-K blow up at a local range a few months ago. I could tell that it was a counterfeit .40 Glock because it was stamped "Beretta 92FS - 9mm" on the slide.

Since we all know that only Glocks KB, and since we also know that the VAST majority of said KB's occur in the .40 caliber, then it's obvious that it was a Glock that he blew up. I just want to know why that guy decided to disguise his Glock. I also want to know what model it was so I can avoid buying one of those dangerous weapons (Since it was so big and bulky, I'm assuming it was probably either a Glock 22 or a Glock 35).

I also would like some info regarding the legality of removing the Glock factory stampings and then adding the Beretta stampings. Wouldn't this violate some Federal law ??

I've own 5 glocks during the past 9 years, 3 have been 40s and guess what ? never had a KBoom, as far as that goes I would like to add;

> never had or seen a slam fire

> never had a brittle frame

> never had or seen a crack frame

> never heard or seen a Glock go full-auto( most highly unlikely unless you modifiy the trigger coponents )

> never seen a crack slide

The only weak item with y glocks have been the front sight being bumped loose or scratch/dented. Other than that, it's a d+mm nice gun.

The above should cover all of the stupid rumors that I have heard about glocks. BTW: I do shoot factory ammo and MY reload, keep my gun clean, lubricated, barrel un-restricted, never try to load a 40sw to 10mm specs and practice good gun maintenance.

If this survey is how you do research then you will be severely mislead. The better question would be what caliber have you KB'd. KB's happen in all guns as a result of bad ammo.
