I've owned several Glocks throughout the years. A G23, two G27's, G26, G36, G30. Have I ever had a KB? Nope.

Do I think the entire Glock issue has been blown out of proportion? Yep.

According to the posts here the Kaboom score here is..

Glock=1
Colt 1911A1=1
Sig P229=Undisclosed number
HK=1

Someone should start a new poll that asks:
Do you shoot reloads in your stock Glock barrel?
Answer choices:
a.) Yes. I'll risk a kb to save a few cents
b.) No. Its not worth it to me. I read the manual.
c.) No. I prefer American coated so I can buy factory ammo and still risk a kb.

 :p

Reloads in a Glock factory barrel---absolutely not. Lead loads in a Glock factory barrel---absolutely not. Factory loads in a factory Glock barrel---absolutely not. However, yes to all the above after installing a KKM barrel. Works for me, but I'm a sissy and want to keep all my fingers.

the duck of death,

One can but wonder which street corner your Sig barrels comne from?

I'll assume this cryptic missive is directed at me.

The answer would be "whatever street corner SIG get's 'em from, I guess". :p

Look, I'm sorry if I can't work up this bizarre brand loyalty that some folks have. You know "SIG/Glock/HK/1911/Beretta is the ultimate shooting machine and all the other ones suck". I own/owned too many fine examples of each, and have seen too many busted ones of all types dragged into the shop over the years to get too wrapped up in the Magic Sword nonsense. I know you've decided that your SIGpro is the ultimate precision shooting machine and that your Glock was a dangerously out-of-spec pistol that you saved by wisely installing a KKM tube, and if it helps you get through the day, that's cool. ;)

Your finally catching on. I don't care what you do to your guns. I have over the years acquired some knowledge and appily it as I see fit. The Sig needed no after market attention , the Glock, in my estimation did, this suits me if it bothers you IDGAS.

What Glock? There's an exploded Glock somewhere?

My client has no comment on this matter. Please direct all questions to my office. I thank you for your time. :p

Darn it, why wasn't Sig around when all the sloppy chambers were passed out. Guess I have to get a Glock to get one. Oh, that's right I got a Glock and then, stupid me, I replaced the barrel so I still don't have a sloppy chamber.

Never had a Glock blow up. Of course, I wouldn't own one of the ugly ass things and that is a purely subjective evaluation. One legitimate reason though is the aforementioned "can't shoot this or this or this..." situation. I expect a new gun to pretty much eat whatever I choose to feed it...without eating my fingers.

The lady posted pretty clear pictures last week.

However, I'll go take a look at my .40 caliber Glocks and Sig. I have no KKM barrel to look at. But, as I said, the pics were pretty clear.

I bought my G-22 in '94.
4300+ rounds through it, all factory new. No reloads/lead slugs.

Feed/eject failures: 0
Misfires: 0
KB's: 0

Phoenix...

We must REALLY be lucky to have kept all our appendages in their proper place! I purchased my G27 in 1998 and I have the same boring story.:)

Feed/Eject failures: "0"
Misfires: "0"
KB's: "0"

Hummm...I think I see a pattern developing here!:D

Been shooting lots of different Glocks since '93: g17, g21, g22, g23, g24, g26, g27, g30, g31, g32, g33, g35. I've put most of these guns through some heavy testing with reloading experiements, etc. DANG IT! I just can't seem to blow a Glock. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong ;)

Some of my testing is documented at my site, for example using my G31 for extreme bullet setback testing with 357sig ammo.

I'll just keep trying I guess ;)

For some strange reason, I've also had good luck with my Beretta's, SIG's, USP's, CZ, Kimber & Colt 45's, and even my Steyr pistols.

Regarding SIG and Glock chambers: The 6 o'clock chamber opening is just one part of the picture. Check out the pressure ring after shooting full power loads. My SIG's ususually measure around .428 while my Glock .40's measure as high as .432. Obviously, the Glock has a much looser chamber, at least based on my humble use of a caliper. The aftermarket Glock barrels do have slightly tighter chambers, as well as often having slightly less exposed brass in the chamber opening, which brings the pressure ring down to .427 - .428 usually.

Pete...

You'll just have to keep trying! Next time you go to the range, try firing a Glock while standng on your head. :) Surely THAT will make the Glock explode!:D

This is a completely ridiculous subject to even waste time on, Glock has NEVER had a problem with KB's due to any kind of factory defects or equipment failures. It's very, very simple; stay within SAMMI specs and you will NEVER have a problem.

Amen, brother bruiser. I could only add that you keep 'em clean. This "blowed up Glock" thing is getting stupid. I don't know of ANY firearm than hasn't Kb'd due to very simple stupidity. Reload responsibly, keep it clean, and for GOD's SAKE (for those that need it) quit being a such a sissy. Everything you do is a risk, so why waste time worrying about a low risk event?

No Glock Kb's.
However I did blow up a Beretta 96 once. The gun was about one week and 100 rounds of Winchester Silvertips old.
Kablewie...700 buckes down the crapper. Beretta wouldnt touch it since I had my gunsmith add some personal touches...nothing that would have caused a KB though, just cosmetic stuff.
I had 2 inox 96's at the time..now I dont have any. :( And they were the most and most natural feeling handguns in my collection...the kind that you just sit around and hold for 2 hours after you've finished cleaning. Not to mention one of the few full-size double stack guns that I could easily conceal under a t-shirt in the right holster (hey, I'm skinny, its hard to hide a full size without a coat).

15 grand and shooting!

Thats about how much I've got through factory barrels of the 3 I own.I've had fail to fires, but thats an ammo issue.
Call it Glock envy or what,I read stories in here about Sigs,Hks and the like going KB.
I guess if your foolish enough to over power .40 sw round you get what you intently decided to prove, you can blow up any brand giving the right situation.
I shoot reloads, and know who reloads my ammo.I shoot factory ammo also,15 grand down range and total confidence in my 3 Glocks!
SAFE-SHOOTING!
