Well my grandfather used to dynamite stumps at the farm, my uncle while working in construction used to blow up some big boulders..Myself I don't see any reason to blow up a perfectly good pistol, to each their own I guess:confused:

Hello Switch625,

I want to find out which Glock models kB and in what proportion.

IMO, this poll will provide valuable information for all prospective Glock owners.

It sounds like an informational purpose to me.

I was wondering about GLOCK pistols and bought the 2002 magazine about them.
I still can't fathom getting one.
I've shot them and handled them, but, my preference is the Beretta 96. The Beretta fits my hand better and I like the design, plus the ability to 'second strike' the ammo in the chamber.

Somewhere I read an article about ammuntion problems with GLOCK pistols, I think it was the CCI Gold Dot ammo, and the comment was made, without directly naming GLOCK, that the ammo was changed to work with one pistol in particular that had an "unsupported chamber"...

I'd like to know if the GLOCK may have been the MYSTERY PISTOL that this article was referring to.

Never know unless you ask.

According to an LE distributor I know, CCI Gold Dot just blew up in some LE pistols recently. SIG P-229's. The agency in question went to Golden Sabers.

Things that have explosions going on inside them sometimes blow up; engines, guns, whatever... ;)

I had a lawn mower blow up. Darned near had to change my pants. I did have to change the muffler.

I never had a Glock blow up.

I think everyone that voted should state wether or not they were using reloads, coated, or jacketed premium when blowing up their Glocks.

Well as I read it so far this survey indicates that 23.3% of Glock shooters have had thier guns blow up. Guess I better call the Highway Patrol and FBI about this immediatly. You would have thought they'd have noticed this thing.

"Qualifications?? Lets see Captain of the class we had 46.7% pass fine, 30% failed and will have to be recycled. Ohh the other 23.3%? well they exploded sir. Look into it? Why???" ;)

Yep, would agree that type of ammo done with could be important, especially if all lead bullets. Also, it would seem that "None" being placed at the top of the list initially would save about 99% of the Glockers some reading time. Last KB at our place was in hands of off duty cop shooting his own super-hot reloads. An HK, who he somehow convinced to replace it ...

None of the above. I shot my G23 two times with the factory barrel then replaced it with a KKM barrel. Too bad Glock can't figure out their barrel needs more support. But then, I'm sure it keeps the aftermarket barrel makers happy.

If the .40 Glock barrel needs more support, than the SIG P-226 .40 barrel needs it worse. You know how those SIG's are always blowing up. (I did a side-by-side comparison and... well, you know the rest. ;) )

Remember: A simple case failure is not a kB!

Glocks are designed as duty weapons. They are made to shoot with factory ammo. Read the owner's manual. No reloads. Obviously many people will run handloads through them. They push their brass too hard in service barrels (meant to provide flawless feeding, not case support for reloads) and sooner or later one lets go. No mystery here. The same thing can happen in other service grade weapons, too. Tell the 70% of US police depts. that use semiautos, and the FBI, that Glocks blow up. They'll probably laugh you off the phone.

Interestingly enough the two KBs I have personally witnessed happened to Government Models. I have never seen a Glock KB, although to read the internet they should be spewing shrapnel over every range in the land.

I shoot mostly reloads (my own) and have put 4000 rounds though my G21 just since last Thanksgiving learning a new technique (it has digested over 10,000 rounds since I bought it as a used gun). My wife and sister shoot 40 caliber Glocks and have yet to experience a KB, and they shoot my 40 reloads. They have high hopes, given enough rounds, of joining the throngs of exploding Glock owners. They feel kind of left out right now.
