My first choice would be the 1911. If not that, an HK Mark 23 sure would be sweet. Out of the ones you've listed, I looked closely at the FNX and if I didn't already have a DA/SA .45 (S&W 457), I'd give that one some hard thought. Don't know much about the CZ. I am not a Glock guy, period! I got my original CHL using a Glock and didn't care for it then, and nothing has happened since 1997 to change my mind.

The FNX is great for what it is. It's a big but lightweight combat .45 that's utterly reliable, has plenty of options, and holds more rounds than most of its competition.

1911 or 2011 is strongly preferred!

Then a CZ.

Some of you talk about Glock 21 carry. I ask you to think about 2 things. 1) the number of reholstering nd's which seem to follow Glocks.
2) when you improve a Glock trigger, how much better did that make accuracy? Compare that to how much less safe it became.

With a 1911, a good 4lb trigger is safe and mazimizes under 25 yd accuracy.

I wonder why it is so hard for people to follow instructions. The OP's question clearly states: "Which of the following .45 ACP handguns would you pick from this poll"

People that say Glock fanboys are bad have clearly not seen this thread :D

The OP ATN082268 posted this exact thread on the high road forum. I feel betrayed, how could you do this to us ATN082268?

SHAME, SHAME, SHAME!

:p

I wonder why it is so hard for people to follow instructions.
Because by some of the other guns the OP has mentioned he has it is obvious he is starting somewhat of a gollection, and why wouldn't someone want a 1911 variant for their tirst 45 in their collection?
Plus it fits his mentioned uses perfectly.
Interesting to hear why the 1911 was left out of the poll.
But if I have to be held to hiss limited choices it would be the Glock G21. I have a G20sf that is a great shooter. I'm sure the 21 would do quite well also.

Perhaps I didn't follow instructions, but I did give an honest answer. From the given list, I wouldn't choose any of them.

I grew up with a couple Colt Govt models in the house. Was Army trained to use, and repair the M1911A1.

My .45acp carry gun is a Browning BDA (SIG P220).

I don't know the CZ, I don't care for the HK and I detest GLocks.

So, from the list, I chose none of the above (which should have been one of the choices included ;))

I like the Gen 4 21.

I also like the FNX-45.

I'd go with the 21 if you want simple.

I'd go with the FN if you want a bit more mag capacity and the double action and safety option. I really like the FNX-45. But I have a Glock... go figure :)

I like the trigger on both of them. I was particularly impressed with the single action trigger on the FN!

I think the glock 41 is more for show than go.
I don't care much for CZ's ???? Don't ask me why. As much as I really do like them, and the looks of them, and the idea of them. I've never shot one that I felt like I actually wanted to own.

I shoot cheaper steel and aluminum case factory ammo very nicely with my own Gen4 Glock 21. For HD and range use, I'd prefer the CZ 97 in "B" rather than "BD" config, strictly "MHO". I think the HK45 and the Ruger American 45 would both be good additions to the OP's list.

There is a CZ97B in the shoulder holster I am wearing right now so you can guess what I voted for. It's a little heavy but I just like all steel pistols. Never could warm up to the funky Glock trigger pull. Nothing like a 1911 but that wasn't a choice. I also have a Kimber Stainless Gold Match and a Springer LW Champion Operator. The CZ really needs some trigger work to shoot with the 1911s but I shoot it well enough that I trust it for EDC.
