Where in your vehicle do you keep your gun?

With all the folks on here talking about keeping a gun in their vehicle, I was curious if they just kept it under the seat or in the glove box? Do you all keep it in a holster?

Are their special holsters that fit under the seat? Just curious.

bought a lockbox for mine

installs in the center console, hence the brand name "console vault"

These work in most passenger trucks; not sure what cars they make models for.

I use this Honeywell lock box I bought from walmart for 35.00 or so. It's bolted through the floorboards. It will accomodate my dedicated truck gun and my on person CCW when I have to leave it behind in the vehicle.

There's also this Stack On model that's a little more sturdy, but smaller.

G26, either IWB, @ 11 o'clock-or-so, where it's easily accessible when I'm strapped in; on the seat by me; in the glove compartment.

vehicle location

I keep my weapon in the turrt on top of my truck.......OK not really it is physically secured but hidden in plain sight. nuff said.

I keep mine in an IWB holster, unless I am prohibited by law to carry it onto/into a prohibited place (post office, school, courthouse . . . ).

Then I lock it in a box in my vehicle. At least it will slow down a thief.

I'm with NavyLT. I keep my gun on my person -- in its holster -- in or out of the car. If I am going somewhere where I can't carry legally, I leave it with my husband, locked up at home, or (if we will be gone for more than a couple of hours) lock it up at our secure locked storage facility.

In Nevada, there aren't all that many places where a CCW owner can't carry, and in those cases if I'm with my husband, one of us stays with the vehicle and the guns. We don't leave guns locked up in an unattended vehicle, though, because of the risk of theft. It isn't the money (the guns are insured), but the responsibility we would feel if a criminal stole our gun and then used it to kill somebody. :(

I'm usually never more than 10' from my firearm when out and about, so it's either on me or in the glovebox/center console.

Keeping a gun in a vehicle unattended and not in a secure container is a good way to get it stolen and end up on the street, possibly getting used for unintended purposes.

If I have to leave mine in the car I just leave it on the seat with an algebra book sitting on it. Nobody willingly messes with algebra. :)

For extended periods I've been known to pull the slice and barrel off and take it with me.

My carry gun goes in the pocket of the door inside it's holster. The car gun stays under the fold down console/arm rest.
