So...what receiver sight would you guys recommend for a 1952 '94 used for deer at 50-100 yards? The aforementioned Williams Fool Proof?
I see where Brownell's has one for $71. Should it be used in tandem with the factory front bead or should I change that out as well?
My experience over the past fifty years or so with aperture sights has been with the Williams FoolProof (and the non-micrometer adjustment 5D model for a couple of .22 rimfires that I have) and I've been very satisfied with it. Lyman also makes an equivalent aperture sight for the Model 94.
I'm not certain, but I believe your Model 94 is drilled and tapped from the factory to accomodate a receiver sight and I doubt that you'll have to change the front bead. I have found the Williams company to be very responsive to customer inquiries over the years and you might want to contact them concerning what they recommend for your specific application.
