Mine is a bastardization of the Latin "King of the beasts" stolen from a little old lady who used it for a pseudonym when she authored the book "Hitman" formerly printed by Paladin Press.

No I don't own the book , and have never read it! :p

I've used "sensop" since the beginning of my bulletin board days in '88. It's the only username I've ever used online. Sensor Operator on AC-130A Spectre Gunships (Retired). See The Real Spectre.

In the Navy, your rank is tied to your rate (MOS to you Army types). I'm a Fire Controlman Chief, and my sub-specialty is the MK86 Gun Fire Control System (which is used for aiming the 5" guns on cruisers and destroyers). (BTW, we achieve .5MOA @ 22,000 yards... and for those who sit around and do the arithmetic and come up with over eight feet, I would maintain that with 70 lbs of HE, that really is "close enough.")

Arrell is the phonetic spelling for my initials, R. L. When I was a Police Officer my name badge was printed "R.L. Holmes" and all the copis in the Dept. started calling me Arrell, the nickname just stuck.

One of the jobs that I had when I was in Viet Nam flying as a crewmember on Hueys & Chinooks was Doorgunner.

Sensop I've seen the C130 Gunships in action.....AWSOME. :)

I'm Eric, I'm in Indiana, and "Eric Sitting in a Cornfield" seemed kinda long.

The old one was a nickname given to people in the Coast Guard, but since my friend's wife named their boat that, it seemed rather odd to continue using it.

'Tis about that time. Go ahead with Part II, or see the threads ref'd by TBM.

(FWIW, my handle is my real name, but no one can pronounce it, so I usually go by Ken, SBG, or "That bald-headed sonofab***" IRL. ;))
