This has probably been done before but.....

I wanna hear where you got your cyber names.

I'll go first.

I'm an animator and the anime Movie "AKIRA" inspired me a great deal and not to mention the kid in manga "AKIRA" is the most powerful force on earth. I know, a bit egotistcal but I like it. Also, it the first name of my favorite movie director Akira Kurusawa.

I also play "Quake" online and I though naming myself after a powerful kid like AKIRA would strike fear in my enemies. :)

Who's next!

Well, "Erik" isn't too hard for most people to figure out. :)

I used to register at various boards as "edenver," since that has been my email address for a long time. (Edenver, because Erik starts with E and I reside in the Metro Denver area.)

I'm possessed of a fine Celtic name that appears to be un-pronounceable for most Texans and Americans.

"Lawdog" is southwestern slang for a Peace Officer, so most of the people who needed to talk to me would sputter for a minute, then ask to see "that red-headed lawdog." It stuck. *shrug*

My initials and my MOS. Pretty simple to remember for a dumb grunt like me. :)

and its efficiency is only marred by the difficulty of finding twelve men

This subject was posted about a year ago if anyone is interested in reading about some of the old timers here they can so a search. But to keep it going since it is a fun thread. I was a bookkeeper up in Reno during the mid 70's when the CB rage was just starting. Since I made the paychecks out for a lot of truckers they saw to it that I had a CB and gave me the handle of Bookkie. They thought it was funny as I was the Reno Bookkie.

I used to come on the Radio "Five by Ten, Ten by Twenty, laying down the odds and takin' in the money. This is the Reno Bookkie, com' on back.

The debate is not about guns,
but rather who has the ultimate power to rule,
the People or Government.

One day I was hanging around another posting board and "saw" that board launch a "attack" on another posting board. I was not impressed in thier attempt to stop another's right to thier First Amendment Rights. Not that I agreed with the Defending sites statement. The Defending site was Japanese and I needed a Japanese name. My Grandmother on my Mother's side is Japanese and I've also always strived to be a Renesance Man. The Meiji Restoration sometimes being considered the "Japanese Renesance". The name came to me and I lept to the site's Defence.
We got our ass kicked and after a few weeks the board was shut down by the ISP for Raceist Content. Just as the attackers had wanted. Used the name ever since.

After reading through some Japanese history I came across the story of Yamaoka Tesshu, a great swordsman, statesman, and artist. He created a dojo called Zensho-An. Zensho means to live completely / die completely. So that is the way I study.

Deja vu? :p

Mine's from the old saying "When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns."
My ancestral bloodline includes several well known government fighters and a couple of guys that pulled a stunt so daring that they made several movies about it.

If the s should happen to htf, I have no doubt that I'll continue the "family tradition". ;)

Well on TFL I have this one and I just made it up because I go by Terri, but since I had to drop my AOL acct. and screen name, since I made a joint acct. with Gunslinger I had to come up with a new cyber name and I'm not telling where I got it. :o Its just one of the those things I prefer to keep to myself. :) LOL

Simple - because I'm a horny toad. :D

Actually, It was my dad's CB handle for many many years. He passed away 3 years ago and it's one of my tiny ways of honoring him. I don't use a CB, so I figured this would be a perfect way to let his handle live on.

But doesn't it have something to do with a primate and follicles?

As for me, I'll just stay in the forest and emanate... :)
