When do you favor revolvers and when do you favor autos?

I like both equally in .22 at the range.
Centerfire at the range I have more fun shooting revolvers.

I can only get away with an auto in the back pocket, either a Seecamp .32 or a Walther TPH.

For front pocket my favorite is the Ruger SP101 because it is a very controllable .357 magnum.

My nightstand gun is a Glock 21 with laser.

I prefer my S&W BG38 for general concealed carry because it rides so easily in a body hugging belt holster.
I prefer my Kahr P380 for hip pocket holstered carry when belt carry isn't viable (shirt tucked in).
When I'm in the mood for a semi I like to carry my HK P7 or SA EMP in a hugging belt holster.
At work, where I open carry, I have been enamored with my HK 45C as of late. That is one fine pistol. But I do carry others as well.

Revolvers when I first get out of bed .Hands are soo stiff if i had a malfunction with my autos i would be SOL .SEECAMP OR BERETTA 21A in a pocket .MP 40 or RUGER SP101 close by.

I favor revolvers for all uses, just because I shoot them better, I'm more confident with them, and I reload and picking up brass out of the grass and weeds is an exercise in frustration (and futility, when the grass goes dormant and turns the color of brass :().

I still enjoy shooting autos though, particularly ones that eat cheaper ammo that I don't feel the need to reload (9x19 and 9x18 come to mind).

As always, YMMV.

I favor revolvers for LE and SD, and some competition.

Competions requiring lots of rounds (Steel 'n such) autos. Bullseye of course autos.

I do shoot revolvers better accuracy wise, but that's probably because I shoot them a lot more.

I prefer revolvers for just about everything.

But if there was a huge mob of people/zombies attacking me then I'd reach for my 1911 as back up. I have four mags for that one.

I prefer semi-autos because the fit my hand better, and generally have a lower bore axis. They are easier to reload, and more accurate for me. However, I do have revolvers which are very accurate, but just feel a little awkward. Probably because I don't shoot them as much.

Semis in the city for ccw,Revolvers single action for hunting the country,
Double action in between times.:D:D

I favor revolver (5 shot J-Frame0 for pocket carry in urban environment.

I add a compact pistol in cross draw pack as a NYreload for the J-Frame.

I favor a .44 magnum light weight revolver for rural environment in a shoulder, or cross draw holster depending upon weather, and attire.

Revo
- nightstand first go-to (bang every time, nothing to fiddle with or wonder/worry about)
- camping/trekking (see above)
- small/pocket cc (see above)
- hunting
- admiring inbetween shooting sessions,...which is a lot of the time...find them more interesting/charming. Ditto cleaning, minor fixes.
Auto pistol
- long (duration) range sessions
- mythical/hypothetcial (thankfully) prolonged street fight or HD

Kcub:

If I were sent to war again or for bullseye pistol shooting I prefer the auto loader. For my recreational and my hunting I prefer the revolver.

>>Started with revolvers years ago, now shoot semiautos almost exclusively.<<

Ditto that. My first guns in the early 60s were revolvers, but I now almost never use them. I still own several, but they spend most of the time in the safe. ;)

My general preference is semiautos.

Revolvers, for me, are best suited to the back woods for 4-legged critters. I don't own one but I can borrow my dad's Colt Python .357

I do most of my shooting on private family land and i shoot both regulary there since i can place a tarp down to catch brass.

I do shoot at an indoor range some. I shoot almost exclusively revolvers. We are allowed to take out our own brass, but i hate trying to sort through all the brass on the ground.

I generally prefer revolvers for just about everything. The only time I carry a semi-auto anymore is when I must go to a questionable part of a large city where gang activity is more prevalent, and even then its usually backed up by a revolver.

Truth be told they are pretty much equal on the fun meter but in the case of centerfires I only own and shoot revolvers. It's a reloading thing.
