Wheelguns as houseguns- a viable alternative???

I keep a Model 10 S&W next to my bed. I have had it there years, it shoots very well, and I trust it. I have ,from time to time, tried others, but I always come back to the Model 10. I like a "wheelgun" for a house gun. IMHO it could(maybe?)be more PC if you had to go to court.

I have to echo Swamprat. I have relied upon others, mostly revolvers, and sometimes will keep a pistol around for a while, but my bedside gun is a Model 10 loaded with 158 grain plus P hollowpoints. I figure it is the best weight, balance, simplicity, power, noise, blast, etc. compromise I can think of if I had to use a handgun while trying to wake up. The shotgun is for if I have time to wake up and get to it. Man, I really, really hope I never have to put my plan to the test. I suspect if I had to grab a gun while waking up, I would be in some very serious doo-doo. But stuff happens.
