Whats your favorite handgun caliber?

I want to ask you about your favorite handgun caliber ever made. I really like .44 Magnum because it leaves no room for improvement in SD arena. Then 10mm also comes to mind since when talking semi auto, it is hard to beat. This is not to discount the time tested .45 and .357s. That all said, I think 9mm will take trophy here for its vast use and variety of loads, etc.

For my personal prefernce, I think 10mm is the most adequte in semi auto, followed by .45.

If you are a wheelgun guy then .357 followed by .44 if you live in the woods and may have to defend against occassional four legged creatures.
 
Favorite? .22lr is my fav, but since its so fun to plink with.If i had to use it for ccw it would be my least favorite.

Maybe the .45acp mainly cause i can carry and afford to shoot it.

If i could find the right gun in 10mm and it was cheaper to shoot i may be giving a different answer.

If the Rowland .460 round could be shot without a compensator so i could carry it i wouldn't care what it cost to shoot as it will shoot .45acp also.
That would be my favorite round.Ive never even shot this round,but i know i would love it.

So yeah,i have 4 favorite rounds.

32 colt short, nagant, 32-20, colt 1903.
missing some but its my favorite
 
45ACP or 45LC

I can probably do more with my 45 auto, but I would love shooting my Colt Army if I had unlimited ammo.

I'm not sure what the "vast uses" of a 9mm are? I wouldn't use it for anything unless it was all I had. I've seen penetration tests where the .380 out performed the 9mm.

.357 hands down

More than enough power for anything I run into in the woods of Washington, plenty of .38+p loads that are great for SD; and the inherent quality, reliability and cosmetic appeal of an American Workhorse. My current carry gun is a Dan Wesson 14-2 circa '73-76.
 
.45 acp, .40, 9mm, .44 mag, .357, .38 special -


Those are my absolute favorites. If I had to choose only one, it would be .45 acp.
 
.357 followed by .22mag followed by 38 cal, followed by .22lr (I can shoot all 4 with just two guns)

I sure like my .40cal too tho....
