What's your favorite all steel semi auto pistols?

I'm a big fan of the 1911 platform and use a couple high quality ones for bullseye matches. I've tried warming up to poly frames pistols but I keep going back to steel pistols.

So I'm curious what your favorites are. I've been reading about the CZ 75 and Sig P226, both of which I hope to own at some point. I had a 70's model S&W 41 for a year but had to sell it to fund my next 1911 with Nelson 22 conversion. The 41 had probably the best pistol trigger I've ever used.

Mine is a full sized 5" 1911 ...Wilson Combat.. - and I have a Protector model in 9mm that is my primary carry gun -- and a CQB model .45 acp that is my backup carry gun now.

But I also have a couple of Sig 226's ( all stainless models ) one in 9mm and one in .40 S&W ....and a hybrid Sig X-Five in .40 S&W...the L1 model with the adjustable trigger.

I'm not a poly frame guy either ...but I understand the attraction to some.

I did just got a LCP Custom to be a pocket pistol and I'm really happy with it so far. On the other hand I was reading about the Walther Q5 Match which I believe is a upgraded PPQ and was kind of excited about it. Then I got to handle a PPQ at a gun show yesterday and was not impressed at all, kind of a bummer.

I prefer the CZ-75 variants, and have several. Right behind them is my Browning Hi Power, and HK P7's.

FYI most all classic P series SIGs such as the P226 are aluminum alloy frame though SIG does offer steel frame versions. Beretta 92.. are also aluminum alloy frames. So not sure if you really mean only steel frame or metal frame but as of now I am going to assume metal frame.

I own CZ SP01 and SIGs. They are all great guns but I prefer my SIGs with my P226, P228, and P220 being top favorites.

I like 1911s but the Sig P220s in 45 and 10mm are current favorites to both shoot and look at.

I have a lot of good ones to pick from but none better than my Smith & Wesson Model 945. Accurate, reliable and super well-made and finished.

Just 1911s, don't really care for any others except maybe a Hi Power. I have Gov'ts, Commanders, and Officers, something for every occasion.
