Right now, I only have two forties, a Ruger KP944D and a Glock G23. The Ruger is the current favorite, I guess because I have had and shot it for between 3 and 4 years now. I'm used to it and comfortable with it. I ususally shoot at 25 yards with it (target) and tactical ranges for other practice (IDPA).
The G23 is, however, narrowing the gap. I've only had it a couple of months. I'm having trouble with getting used to the trigger, keep throwing the rounds up (shooting high). Out of a five round string, I usually get 3 within a couple of inches in the black and then throw one high and another left and/or high. I know it's me, not the gun. Believe it or not, I have improved with it, but have a ways to go. Standard range is 20 to 25 yards. Had to start at 15 yards and work my way back with it.
I like the Glock's lightness, compactness and first round trigger pull over the Ruger. Just need to put a couple of thousand more rounds through it.
