what's your favorite 22?

I used to have this Model 63, and no, I don't know what I was thinking.

I would have to say its my S&W Model 18, I walked into a pawn shop one day on a whim and there she was trigger shoe and all. It was an easy dcision:cool: (I will admit to owning a S&W model 48 at one time...no I dont know what I was thinking:o)

Highpower3006- Very nice Colt but are you sure about the date? I thought the 22 OMT didn't come out until 1931.

Obviously I like all my guns so picking a favorite is usually impossible.

I really like this one and we have a lot of history together. (Again, I thought 1931 was the first year.)

I also like this one. The stocks are incorrect being 1957-68 style.

Single Six 6 1/2" with the Magnum Cylinder in place. Ammo inflation or not I hsve been primarillary shooting the .22 Mag option because of it's uncanny accuracy!
One day I got to thinking about just what round the gun was designed around and since I was shooting a lot of .38 Spec, the then $8 a box for Mags was cheap for the preformance! The Mags turn the revolver into a real "Caliber" gun and even though it's a rimfire, ignition is sure and quick! The 22 mag is a real caliber, not just bored through cylinder. The long range with the mafs is really fun! The capibility of 80-90 yard shots is there! It's like a rifle! aaaif you have a S/S try some Magnums, you'll not regret it.

They can shoot better than I can.

Savage99,
I have scoped a Colt Woodsman Target semi auto 22LR and a Colt Officers model revolver 22LR, and to my surprise, with Fiocchi 22FHPSUB 22LR 40 gr sub sonic ammo , the revolver is much more accurate.

I have shot and hunted with the Colt Woodsman since 1958!

To steady your aim with an autoloading .22 pistol reach out with your other hand and hold the barrel near it's end with your finger and thumb.

Smith Model 617 10-shot with 6" barrel is THE most accurate one I have.
Smith Model 317 kit gun (3"?) Airlite is DANG fun.
Ruger Single-Six is a lot of fun, BUT
My Ruger Single-Nine (22Mag) is WAY more fun! :)

And my Ruger Bearcat is the cutest one - haven't brought myself to fire it. Yet!

Favorite .22 handguns? That's a tough one.

Ruger Single Six.

Ruger Single Nine (.22 WMR)

Ruger Mark III (Hunter or Target)

Probably my fav is the Single Six Hunter. Here she is with the Single Nine after a recent range trip. Two magnificent guns.
