I like my K-22, but the nod goes to my 10-shot 4" 617. Equal to the K-22 in accuracy, but much more versatile. I can use it as an understudy to my .357mag, as a plinker, to shoot rimfire steel matches, and can be pressed into target duty. It's one of my most-shot guns (well, right up until I got a progressive press ).
That one at 25 yards just makes me want to see if I can manage to come up with even twice the group size after trying five times with my six-inch model 17, or any of my other rimfire handguns.
Thanks, Sevens. In the interest of full disclosure, I'll admit 1" 25-yard groups certainly aren't anything I can do on demand or pull off consistently. But it's nice to know the hardware can deliver if and when the shooter can.
Assuming you're referring to my post, those are Ahrends Smooth Combats in cocobolo. I think it's a stock style I ordered through Brownell's. And thanks! They look really nice in maple too, but that set is on a .357. Another thread perhaps...
My favorite .22 revolver is the favorite purely for sentimental reasons, as it was the first firearm I ever bought for myself. It's a stretch to list it, because it went walkabout during a move a number of years ago, but I still have a soft spot in my heart for it.
It was a German-made clone of a SAA, most likely taken from the Colt New frontier .22 six gun. Cost me all of $25 back in my Army days. I bought it for snake protection when hiking the desert in Arizona with my cousins. I keep wanting to say it was a J.P. Sauer & Sohn, but I have a nagging feeling that's not correct. I remember it had white plastic, imitation stag grips, and I once found a photo of what appeared to be the EXACT same gun somewhere on the Internet.
