whats your fav revolver and why?

It would have to be the Smith Mountain gun in .45colt.

Here's why......

perfection.

It's companion rifle, the Winchester Trapper.;)

my favorite

I would have to say my favorite revolver is my 4" 686. I just adore it. I had it glass beaded at Robar and then replaced the hogue grips with the Pachmayr Gripper. In addition a buddy of mine at home chamfered the charge holes and polished the chambers. Now it has some personality. If I could only keep one gun that would be the one.

My favorite would be the Webley Mk. IV, with a 6" Mk. VI barrel, modified to run .45 ACP in moonclips. It has Style, Panache, Character and History. It is also one of the best shooters I've got. I'm better with this gun than with most of my other revolvers, regardless of caliber.

A close second is a .44 mag Mountain Gun. Accurate, superb balance, big boomer.

Tough choice

I'll say S&W 686 Plus 6" barrel.

Not by much though.

I also really like my single action and double action Rugers.

My S&W 27-2 83/8" is the favorite! How I know? I haven't paid any attention to the glock since getting the smith:D

5" M29 Classic. Then again, my 6.5" M629 Classic...

Hard to dislike a 4" M629....

Heck, it's hard to dislike ANY N frame Smith!

My fav revolver is probably my 6 1/2-inch S&W Model 624. It's accurate, well-made, has good balance, and is fun to shoot. I also like its handsome, traditional style. A good gun for pride of ownership.

My favorite revolver has to be my Ruger KGP-141. It might not be the norm to think this, but I like it better than the S&W 686 that I had.

Mine may be a bit weird to some, but it works for me. My old S&W 1917.

I bought it WAY back when I was a kid at a pawn shop in my home town. It was in excellent shape and cost me a whole $35. I wanted a .45, but Colt GMs weren't practical for a southpaw at the time unless you could afford to send it off to Armand Swenson, Jim Clark, or the like for custom work that'd cost you a month's wages.

I eventually had the barrel cut down to 3" and a serrated blade front sight installed for CCW. The DA pull was lightened-up some thanks to tips in the magazines from Major Nonte and Skeeter Skelton. The old "long action" was as slick as butter and easy to "stage", which helped the learning process immensely.

While it rarely gets out of the safe much anymore, our history together still makes it my "favorite". I keep telling myself that one day I'll send it back to S&W to be "restored" to its former mechanical and cosmetic perfection, but somehow it just never gets done. Guess I'm afraid that too many memories would get lost in the process.

OK so it's only a 22 but my favorite is an old model 17 S&W that just looks like heck . BUT it hits whatever I bang it at & the trigger breaks like the proverbial icecicle, and smooth as a newborns bohinne.:D
