Whats your biggest/loudest/most powerful rifle?

It's a toss up between my 1895 Marlin 45-70 and Ruger no.1 458 Lott. You'd think the Ruger would be louder but with a short 18.5" barrrel on the Marlin it's hard to tell since I double up on the ear protection when shooting the big bores. I've had people at the range tell me they can feel the pressure in their chest when shooting the Ruger though.

8mm German Mauser,,,

8mm German Mauser,,,
WW-II trophy brought home by my great uncle.

Man that thing does turn some heads at the range,,,
You wouldn't think it was all that bad,,,
But it is one really loud firearm.

years ago I had a 318 rigby shot it twice that was enough.Recoil from a 375 H&H didn't bother me but that rigby did.

As a Texas hunter, I have a 30-06 as my big gun. But, for recoil/noise, by 12ga 3.5" wins. I can't imagine any animal on Earth not dying were I to hit it with a full power 3.5" slug (out to 100 yards anyway). Also, the recoil of 2.25oz turkey loads is just painful. I don't think I'll be shooting any more of those!

Easily my Remington 700 SPS Tactical .308, with its 20" heavy barrel. This thing has a mean muzzle blast....it will blow a cloud of snow off the ground every time I fire a round.

loudest... 45-70 14 hunter barrel Contender

deepest penitrating... 338 Win Mag

largest bore custom 53 caliber / 28 ga ( I suppose really would be 12 ga rifled slug )... of traditional caliber, would be .416 Rigby

All my "big guns" are pretty similar; 7.5 Swiss, .308 Win, 7.62x54R, 8mm Mauser. I don't know what's "bigger" boom-wise, but my Mosin is certainly the largest gun, physically, that I have.

My .22-250 Remington with the muzzle brake will leave your ears a-ringin'. Came with the brake, i wouldnt have one installed otherwise. First time i shot it i was up at my buddies farm, i drove down to his shooting range, got out the truck to fire 1 to confirm its functionality as i just purchased it. Poped one off, got back in and apparently was yelling, "hey why did you turn the radio off?" to my buddy. He hadnt touched it...

My Garand's a pussycat compared to my 12 gauge Auto-5 which is a pussycat compared to my 300 WinMag Howa 1500.

But the one that hurts me (8 shots on Sunday and my wrist is still a bit tender) is the Freedom Arms 454 Casull revolver with factory ammo. Not a rifle, granted, but most definitely both loud and powerful.
