It's an oldie -- about 1944, I think.

B/W classic, starring Peter Finch and Chips Rafferty (who was sort of an icon; the archetypal laconic Aussie digger)

I've also heard of it being called in the US, "The Fighting Rats of Tobruk"

You might be able to run a search and see if anyone stocks it on the Internet.

Anything set in WWII and starring Lee Marvin.

Did anyone mention "Once Upon A Time in The West". Henry Fonda, Charles Bronson, Jason Robards. Read somewhere that it was the only time Fonda played a bad guy.
