"Cindy, were you paying attention? "

huh?

oh...Jedi...

"You talkin' ta me???" :D

(actually, I had to read the entire post four times before I got it. DOH! LMAO again)

------------------
"...you gotta ask yourself one question...do I feel *lucky*?"

Cool Hand Luke Hands down.
When I was a cop I always used the famous Strother Martin lines..."What we have here is a falure to communicate". and "get your mind right".
Arrell

Another of my all time favorites:
Red Dawn

------------------
"Every normal man must be tempted, at times to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag and begin slitting throats." H.L. Mencken

Bruce, they made a movie about the Rats of Tobruk? Gotta find that. Best movies are: Independence Day
National Lampoons Senior Trip
Full Metal Jacket
Red Dawn
Up in Smoke
Night Patrol (Old comedy with the unknown comic)
Legends of the fall
Dances with Wolves
Usual Suspects
and many more.

Just saw "Purgatory" on TNT a couple of nites ago. It started out with a pacifist/anti gun theme, but when the chips were down, the "right thing" turned out to be for the notorious gunslingers to put on the hoglegs one last time.

Can't say as I buy Randy Quaid as Doc Holliday, though.

Ben-hur #1

John Wayne Favorites:
The Searchers
True Grit
The Man Who Shot Liberty Vallance

Clint Eastwood Favorites:
Outlaw Josey Wales
The Unforgiven

Favorite Sci-Fi:
Bladerunner, GGGGreat soundtrack

Another with Harrison Ford is Witness

With Jimmy Stewart:
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
It's a Wonderful Life

I love Lonesome Dove too.

All time favorite: "Once Upon A Time In The West". Jason Robard is one of my favorite actors. I would love to see him and Robert Shaw together in an epic western.

"The Outlaw Josey Wales" is a close second.

Sci Fi: "Blade Runner". Runner-up: "Aliens".

The best story for a movie that was never made: "Red Storm Rising". Hands down, the best novel ever written by Tom Clancy. I've read it three times.

Besy fantasy novel never made into a movie: "The Silmarillion", J.R.R.Tolkien. I've only read this one twice, so far.

Another memorable moment from Cool Hand Luke
"I don't care if it rains or freezes, long as I have my plastic Jesus, riding on the dashboard of my car...I can go a hundred miles an hour, long as I have the almighty power, glued up there with my pair of fuzzy dice". Man that's classic.
Arrell

"The gods must be crazy" and the sequeal were really good comedys that got little attention. I had many a good belly buster during both. Proof that slapstick is alive and well, thank you.

"Throw Momma from the Train" is another belly buster.

Ben Hur was good, El Cid was great.

For you fans of Demi, "The Butcher's Wife" has a really great scene behind a scene things. If you watch the movie, pay particular attention to the background scene during one of the movie's more dramatic parts.
*sigh* Ever notice how many good movies are ruined when some really great actors (Gregory Peck, Sean Connery and Newman come to mind) come out with some namby pamby anti gun crapola?

Classics:
Lawrence Of Arabia
Dr. Zhivago
The Lion In Winter

Comedy:
Big Trouble in Little China
Army Of Darkness
Happy Gilmore

When I a young smartass, I too made fun of
the close-up facial tics, the questionable
dubbing, the over-acting. Wise now with the
weight of my 39 years I realize that these
are some of the most brilliant movies ever
made. Great, cosmic allegories of right and
wrong with amazing soundtracks and visceral
profundity in every squint and expectoration.
My dying wish will be to see these movies
alone in a 70mm theater. Seriously.
