What's the most reliable pocket 9mm or 380?

Does the Polish P-64 (9x18) qualify under the OP's limitations?
The stiff DA pull can be modified with a specific Wolff spring. Owners claim that there is no change to its reliability, although the spring's change in the light SA pull takes a little getting used to.

The recoil (similar to PPK/S) can be improved with a different Wolff recoil spring.
Three friends carry the P-64. One of them always keeps his in a pocket, even when on his property.

I also have a Kahr CM9 which I sometimes pocket carry, depending on size of pocket. After a couple of hundred rounds to break-in the gun (recommended by Kahr), mine has not had a bobble even with hollow point ammo

My CM9 needed no break-in period to operate reliably. It has been flawlessly reliable since it came out of the box.

I have run what seems to be countless rounds through my LCP and Shield, and neither has had a hiccup of any kind.

In all of the guns I have, I only ever bought one compact pistol, a Ruger LC9. It has worked so well I have never looked for anything else in that category.

Well over 1000 rounds with no failures. It feeds everything from +p to junk ammo. Not cheap but quality never is.

Does the Polish P-64 (9x18) qualify under the OP's limitations?
Being over six inches long, almost five inches high, all steel, built like a tank, and weighing as much as one, I have to question it's use as a "pocket" pistol.
But that's just me, and I have trouble enough keeping my pants up with my keys in one pocket, and Else Pea in the other! :D

I guess the going response is " I have a----" so here goes my pistols and listed in order of reliability:
SIG P238---100%
Star DK------100%
SIG P938----100%
Glock 42-----100%
Walther PPK (pre war 7.65mm)---100%
So there you have my personal findings and I have total confidence while carrying any one of my pistols---others may have different results with the same models so if one is looking for total reliability experimentation with a particular firearm is the answer.

CZ Rami

Hands down! I would vote for the CZ Rami.. the only feature I wish it had was a manual safety.

Otherwise its perfect. Small, good sights, nic weigth and it costs (here in Pakistan) around 1.25 lakhs (thats 1250$... I think its expensive here because of the high duty!)..

whats the price of this in the States?

(thats the CZ 2075 Rami B)

I could have titled this thread: "are there any reliable pocket 9mm's or 380's?"

I've recently had two popular brand/models fail, each below the 500 round mark. But, I don't want to focus on the guns I'm disappointed in - I want to steer this toward guns that can be expected to work
From the numerous posts it's easy to see the answer is yes, many.
It appears you unfortunately got the wrong ones, or individual problem guns.

Reliable carry guns

I've prepped four Ruger lc9s pistols for carry.150 FMJ plus 50 SD rounds each.Zero issues plus strong ejection. Then theres my six revolvers.Zero issues for DECADES! Just say'in.:D

Yes.....well.......

It's the thousands of unhappy folks we are NOT hearing from that should worry those who would choose one of the mentioned off-brand (non Glock) guns.

:D

pocket pistols

I do not carry either in my pocket, but my two smaller Summer carry pistols are a WG Sig P230SL and a Sig P938SAS. I wish Sig would make the P230 in a 9MM as I love the look, feel and balance of this pistol for a CCW. The P230 has been 100% during the nine years I have owned the pistol. I just purchased the P938 last week - so time will tell. The first 300 rounds were flawless. Dan

54 replays. Mostly attest to the reliability of Ruger. Many more Kahr. Some Sig, Kimber, S&W, Colt, Beretta, and even Kel Tec.
FIVE mentions of Glock. All by the same person!
ROTFL!!!!
"Now THAT'S funny, I don't care who you are!"

Well, I just got back from the range with my new-to-me LCP. Decent little gun. Fired everything I put thru it with no problems. I can keep all shots within about a 6" circle at 7 yds if I go slowly. My problem is that my aging eyes can't focus on the sight clearly enough. That's not the gun's problem. I think I can help them out a little by putting a dab of white paint on the front sight.

This is going to be my new front-pocket pistol. In a simple pocket holster it rides very comfortably - even in jeans.

No, what's FUNNY is when the lesser guns fail.
Haven't found one yet. Plus even my Hi-Points are more accurate than my Glocks!
But a Hi-Point C9, and JHP and G20, and G17 aren't exactly "pocket guns"
As I said, the new G42 is even a bit large for true pocket carry 100% of the time.
Just like it's not been reliable 100% of the time either.

Lots more than room to post.
Seems a "lesser" gun that is 100% reliable trumps a blind cult following every time! :D

Yes, the G42 is a poor solution searching for a problem

Glock 26 or 27 will handle the need just fine......it's just that a lot of ill-informed folks were clamoring for a smaller gun.

Go figure.
