What's the biggest pistol you've ever carried concealed?

I'm going to go ahead and get a concealed pistol permit, but right now my only pistol is kinda long with it's 8 3/8" barrel and at 5.7" and 140lbs it's going to be next to impossible for me to conceal it. I will most likely wait until I get a used GP100 with a 4" barrel in June or July when I get my vacation check. I know the GP100 is not small either, but I like big revolvers.
I'm just wondering if anyone has carried a similar size pistol with a long barrel concealed and how did you do it. I'd also be interested to hear about other large pistols you guys carry or have carried in the past.

I've carried a 4” M-29 with two speedloaders, OWB.

The problem with long barrels, at least for me, is that they hit the seat when I sit down and the butt jams up into my ribs. They also hit the seatbelt buckle when I’m driving. For that reason (among others) I carry an XDm 3.8 9mm OWB. It holds 20 rounds and is very comfortable.

In my case it was my S&W model29-2 nickel 44mag with 6 1/2" barrel. In the case of someone I worked with in LE, during winter months carried under his coat in a flashlight holder an Iver Johnson Enforcer .30 m1 handgun.

1911, glock 22, s&w 6509. I no longer carry any of them, although i wouldnt mind picking up a small 1911 style like a defender or emp. I like to rotate my carry guns.

A Model 57 4 in. It's not as bad as you would think with a good belt and holster. But, as Lyle Lovett says "it's not big, it's large". Love those S&W N frames.

All I'll say here is, I was young, and I only ever did this once, but....Would you believe a 7.5 inch barrel Redhawk?:o

The biggest revolver I've ever tried to carry concealed ...Inside waist band ...is an N frame S&W ( mod 27 in a 4" .357 mag) ---and I used the same holster on another N frame ...a S&W mod 629 (.44 mag ) with a 3" barrel ...but they're both pretty heavy ( I used Kramer leather holster). But carrying a K frame S&W is way easier ( like a mod 66 or 19 in 2 1/2" or a 4" barrel )...Kramer leather again ...but different rig.

I can comfortably carry a full sized 1911 ..in a 5" ...(again Kramer leather) ...and its comfortable ...and I use the same rig to carry other 1911's in 4" or 5" ...

I have a shoulder holster for my mod 29's or 629's S&W's in 8 3/8" barrels..(.44 mags ) ...and I've carried them in that rig fly fishing ...but again, they're real heavy. You can conceal it pretty easily ...( but I'm pretty big at 6'5" and 280 lbs ) ...

SW Model 19, 2 inch snub. This was State Dept issue for all Marine Guards on embassy duty back in the day. Carried it concealed while on plain clothes duty and in full view when in uniform.

I would absolutely LOVE to get this gun again someday. Either M19/66 would be fine. A real shame SW doesn't make them any more.

GLOCK G20: not because it is necessarily practical, but it was new and I wanted to. However, I realize I am stating the obvious, but with the right holster, belt and cover garment you can conceal just about anything within reason.

Colt 1911 5" in a Bianchi X15 shoulder holster, or OWB holster, both with a longsleeve shirt with tails untucked and unbuttoned.

With the caveat that I am a large guy (6 1/2 feet tall, weigh more than I should), I usually carry a large revolver.

I'm going to try to post a couple of pictures. One is what I am carrying today, an S&W 28 with 4 inch barrel in a Lobo Gunleather IWB. The other is what I carried last month, a Ruger Blackwawk with 5 1/2 inch barrel, also in a Lobo Gunleather IWB.

For me, there is no substitute for a large revolver with decent sized barrel.

At 5'10" 193lbs, I have carried a S&W 586 4" and also carried a 92FS under a T shirt IWB. They can be rather cumbersome sitting but beyond that, no problem.

I tried to carry a 6" model 629,,,

It was winter and I was always wearing a coat,,,
So just for grins I made a quick shoulder holster for it.

I made myself pack that monster for about a week,,,
Then I decided Harry Callahan was a better man than I was.

Man but that thing was heavy.

I've carried a Taurus Pt-101 concealed. A friend of mine will sometimes throw on his Model 29 with 8 3/8 barrel under a leather jacket. Somehow, he makes it work.
