Whats the best deal you've got on a gun?

For me I found some wal mart gift cards that had been forgotten about and looked like they were expired, tried them out and had $180 on them so I got my Mossberg 500 for $30 out of pocket at wally world.

Whats the best deals you guys have come up with?

Well, the time period has a lot to do with it.

I bought a Sears-Roebuck 12 ga pump many years ago for $99.00, when it sold new for $129.00. They'd lost the box and papers. That was a good deal in those days.

I bought a used S&W 39-2 at a Gander Mountain for $250.00. I was seeing them at the time for $350-400.00.

And I traded a Glock 19 with two ten round magazines, box etc., and $200.00 for a like new, 4" blue, S&W Model 29-2, 44 magnum, with two boxes of factory ammo once. I figured the Glock was worth about $350.00 trade value, so I put $550.00 into the 29. Retail on them at the time was in the $750.00 range.

Generally speaking however, I buy high and sell low.

Hmmm,.....I purchased an FN FNC for $700 years ago.

Semi-auto handguns: Hi-Power C-Series for about $500. Colt Gold Cup, stainless "ultimate" polished finish for $800.

I never get "awsome" deals on guns I buy - they are pretty much just "fair" deals when I get them; then some just appreciate to where they look like great deals.

NIB Browning Hi-Power, Hard Chromed with the gold trigger, fixed sights, Pachmayr rubber wraparound grips, still has the disconnect on it, paid $395.00 for it a little over 6 years ago.

LN S&W Model 27-2 6" bbl. in the wood presentation case, $275.00 about 15 yrs. ago, the blueing on the sideplate was a little mottled from having sat in that case for so many years, got it polished & reblued to match the rest of the gun. Sold it about 7 yrs. ago, I later got a S&W 627 that I bought for $550.00 that shoots about as well as the 27, but that 27 was just a great looking gun.

Sig P225, W.German police surplus, with the German instruction booklet & proof target in the case, came with 3 mags, paid $319.00 for it about 6-1/2 years ago.

Sig P228 with 1 mag, great SA and DA trigger, better than the first P228 I had but sold, VG cosmetics & the "purpled" slide, paid $495.00 about 18 months ago.

S&W Model 15, newer model with the Hogue rubber grips, very faint drag mark on the cylinder paid $450.00 about 2 months ago.

LN S&W 659 with 1 mag, paid $300.00 for it about 2 months ago.

I have seen some prices on guns at shows that looked too good to be true. My lack of trust in my fellow man kept me from making the purchases.

$570.00 for a NIB 700 SPS Varmint after rebate.

I'd been shopping for a pre-Series 80 Lightweight Commander, and passed on a lot of guns in 80%-90% condition priced $650-$750.
A near-mint, first-year S80 showed-up on gunbroker, I was the only bidder, and got it for $485.
For years, Washington state didn't collect sales tax on guns bought online, so buying online always saved $100 or more, and any gun I bought was a good deal compared to local retail prices, but now the state has cracked-down, so you have to pay tax plus the transfer fee, putting local retail prices in line with online purchases.

best gun buy

I bought a pristine 6 inch Colt Anaconda .44 mag from a workmate for 300 bucks. He was intimidated by the report and recoil.I already had a Ruger Super Black hawk .44 so I traded it for a new Springfiled Loaded Target 1911 about 10 years ago.I also bought a Russion Mosin Nagant #44 carbine 7.62x54 built in 1946 at a yard sale that was in new condition, with matching numbers for 75 bucks.I still shoot that Mosin . hdbiker

I got a kimber ultra carry for $300 then since already had one traded at gun show for a new glock 23 and ruger vaquero in 45lc with in the last 3 months. One of ghe best deals i have done as of late!

Almost new in box....Wilson Combat CQB, 5" gun, armor tuff finish, .45 acp ...about 10 yrs ago...for about $ 1,350 ....( its still my primary carry gun today ).

....../ when full retail on it was about $ 2,000...--- a guy pawned it and didn't come back for it - the shop gave him $ 800 I think when he pawned it --- and I was in there often, bought a few guns, the owner gave me a deal...and we both made out great / and he sold it the first day it came out of pawn - so a quick cash deal for him.

A COLT NF SAA 38SPL 5 1/2", the second rarest colt in existance, a gift from a TOTAL stranger in June, 2011.
It is a long interesting story as I DO NOT ever accept freebies from anyone for anything or any purpose. But this was different...more like a gift from God for lack of as better verbal explanation.....you see, I've given away several very rare SA sixguns over the years to my closest of friends, my adapted kid brothers so to speak, and as the bible says, the more you give away the more you'll receive in return....it is amazing to behold.
And so it goes...

traded a friend of mine a heritage rough rider 22 for an unknown brand 12 ga pump. i couldnt shoot the 22 worth a damn, but i took it out to the range one day with my buddy, and he just had to have it. probably a fairly even trade in terms of value, but i get alot more use out of the 12 ga than i did the 22 just sitting in the safe.

Traded back a glock to a friend that I had originally paid him $300 for. He just HAD to have the glock back.

$99.99 for an E German Makarov. It was on closeout sale from SOG . The pistol was so covered in cosmoline that it was impossible to tell the condition and my first thought was that it was probably a well worn police or service weapon.

To my surprise, when I got it cleaned up I thought it had to be unfired. It came with two mags (unfortunately not matching) and a rain pattern flap holster.

So many good deals it is hard to pick just one. I almost always buy used and have scored lots of good stuff on the cheap over the years.

Best deal might have been a LNIB Sig P228 with night sights, 4 factory mags, 3 P226 17 rounders with xgrip base plates, box manual etc plus a Kramer horse hide holster in the bag for $425. My wife took it for her bedside gun.

One of my greatest gun fears is that when I die my wife is going to sell all my guns for what I told her I paid for them. LOL

Remington 760 with Leupold scope in exchange for buying and installing a set of ag-lug lawn tractor tires for my aging neighbor.

Bought an 80's Ruger GP-100 6" blued in very good condition for $200. Sold it to purchase another firearm which I also sold.

Regret... regret....

I'm not selling anymore guns unless there's a good damn reason.

My friend had two guns he needed to sell. He just wanted what he had in them. They were a Colt detective special and a S&W model 915 with an uncle mikes adjustable duty holster and a mag pouch with two extra S&W factory mags. The price? $500 for both.

That was a deal all by its self. I sold the colt on GB and got $467 for my part. So I figure I have $33 in the 915 with holster, 3 mags and leather mag pouch. And the 915 has had an excellent trigger job done to it. I wish I knew who did the work. I would let them do my model 39-2.
