Over the years I have bought, sold and tradded many pistols,of them all, two stand out that "I" made out instead of the seller.. They were
Berreta mod 950bs 25,blue with wood grips bought mint a few years ago for $75.00 Sold it a year later for $150.00
Kel-tec p-11 9mm, also mint, bought for $150.00 added factory nitesites and upgradded slide to hardchrome (+100.00)sold two years later for $350.00
Hopfully new (used) Kahr K-40 (mint for $300.00) will be will be added to this list.I regret selling the beretta and kel-tec but atleast I made $ on them both.

Many years ago I bought a FN Browning .32ACP in NRA excellent condition complete with original flap holste for $6.00. The price was so low because the magazine was missing. Two weeks latr I found and bought a magazine for $2.00. A total of $8.00 for an excellent, high quality pistol is the best I have ever done.

Hello pocketman, Probably the two best buys,or at least one of them anyway were my Colt Vest Pocket and my Star model 43.
The Vest Pocket I got for free when a local sporting goods store said they owed me money.
Which they didn't,but I gave them three chances to correct their mistake. My Star 9mm I got about the time when Star was going out of business and the dealer wanted to unload his stock. I got the Star at a very low bargain price. I've never seen them advertised close to what I paid. Oh and I forgot my 1911A1 Remington Rand, Got that one for $75. Gun,1943 issue holster and 43 issue ammo. Those I guess were my best deals ever. :)
Happy Shooting :)

1. Broomhandle Mauser all matching numbers with the shoulder stock, $400. Couldn't shoot it so 18 months later sold for $1200.
2. I sold a U.S. Military 1911A1 that I paid $150 for in 1975 that had only been shot 6 times since its SA arsenal rebuild. I sold it to a friend for $250 in 1985 with the understanding that if he didn't want it he would sell it back to me. About 2 years later he decides to get married to an anti and sells me the gun back for $50. I then traded it off. I got a Browning HP + $50 for it on the trade. I still have the HP.
3. $350 for a NIB Browning GP Comp, still have it.
4. $355 for a NIB Steyr GB, still have it.

This is me, limited by the great and merciful People's Republik of Kalifornia to one handgun every thirty days, listening to the above sweet deals, needing to BMG (Buy More Guns)

Hmmmmm

Pistol wise, I bought a HP that was never shot circa 1970's for $400. The guy needed money badly and I was more then willing to help.

Also bought a Colt 1991 NIB for $350 from the same guy. I told him that if he ever needs to dump more guns fast, call me first.

From a different guy at my club, I bought a Browning BT-99 for $455 + 200 of my .45 ACP reloads.

A Green Label Colt for $1200 which only had 20 rounds fired through it.

Remington 700 PSS with Springfield Armory Scope for $725.

Pawnshops are great places to find bargains.

Best buys...well, I got a Colt Series 70 Combat Commander once for $250. Its finish was a bit on the brown side but that was curable. I also picked up a Series 70 Gold Cup in the box in excellent condition a few months ago for $600 out the door.

Best I ever did was a Norinco M59 Makarov at a gunshow a few months ago for $80. Norinco Maks are probably the rarest Makarov variant, and this one was in 100% condition. The price tag said $100, but the dealer quickly said she'd take $80 when she saw me handling the pistol. I suppressed a drool and whipped out the wallet with lightning speed. Guess she didn't know what she had.

I'm too old for this. I get sick when thinkin of the DCM .45s, 03A3s, Garands n Carbines that I bought in the very early 50s.

Or later, the matched pair of new S+W mod 28s for $200.00 (both). Or the mod 36 2" for 65 new. The Colt National Match for 110 new.

Sam...follow me, I know where the Geritol is.

I have several over the years but recently I have 3. A 6" blued Python for $250 + a "ratty" $&# model 38 I got for $100. A 4" blued Diamondback in 38 special for $300. A blued Beretta model 21 in 22LR plus 3 spare factory mags for $75. All were 99% or better.

About 4 years ago I bought a Marlin 39A lever action .22 for $75.

A great deal, untill I found out it was a 1950's vintage Ballard rifling. Then it became a great deal!!!

Sold it a few months ago to a local boy for his 1st rifle, for a fraction of it's book value, but I still trippled my cost.

I have to see if I still have any memory cells left. The ones that come to mind are: 1) Star BM $125.00 2) Llama Especial and Berreta 950, both for $200.00 3) Taurus 441 $150.00 4) Sig P220 NIB for $375.00, Glock 30 $475.00. I am sure there are more but one that is a best buy was an East German Makarov with two grips, shoulder holster, and Pierce grips for $190.00. This is one of the best handguns I have ever owned. Regards, Richard.

2000 - Ruger P97 - acuurate .75" @ 10 yards-digests ANY load I have used: Ball, Winchester BEB, JHP, Tough--need I say more?, rust-resistant and easy to take down.

$333.34 - The best buy I have ever made.

Ruger GP100 .357 magnum (the KGP141: stainless, four-inch, full underlug, adjustable rear sight) NIB for $315 (no tax, etc.) via the Internet.

I envy several of the other "steals".

best deal was buying a Smith 41 from an estate dealer.

In 1994 I bought two new chinese sks's with bayonets and 30 rd mags for 200 dollars. This is before they were cracking down on "ASSAULT" rifles so the local shop couldn't give them away. The same shop today sells them for 250 each.
Maroons hehehe

I also picked up a 7.5" stainless super redhawk .44 with a red dot scope for 425.00.
It was used but in mint condition with a phenomonal trigger.
