Supposedly, the gun that is right for me is a Heckler and Koch USP .40. Hmm. Currently, I own 7 handguns, only one of which is a semi, a 1911. All of the others are revolvers in calibers from .22 lr through .45 ACP. Three of those are .357s. I enjoy shooting all of these pretty much equally, although at the moment, I'm really enamored with my .45 ACP revolver (Smith & Wesson 625 JM) and my .357 magnum Smith & Wesson Model 27. I've never fired a Heckler and Koch or any other gun in .40 Smith, for that matter, and I sort of doubt that I ever will.
