I find that it depends more on me and the particular day, than the particular gun, provided I am feeding it ammo it likes. That said, BHP, CZ75, Gold Cup, S&W52, lots of different Hi Standard .22s, etc.
I only own 8 semis but have shot dozens more, the most accurate are two that I own. Sarsilmaz K2P, well built and affordable. And my favorite is my Beretta PX4 Storm 9mm, the rotating barrel makes a huge difference.
My Kimber Gold Combat had been my most accurate gun, in my hands, until I picked up my CZ PCR about 8 years ago. Before that, my BHP was my go to 9mm but my PCR was that much better from the very first round. I can't explain it but it seems the grip, grip angle and low bore axis all seem to be what works best for me. My Gold Combat still gives my PCR a run for the money but to this day nothing has been more accurate, for me, than my PCR.
Used to be my Sig 226 (W German). The more I shoot my Walther PPQ (M1), the more it becomes the clear choice. It's also the gun that most other people shoot the best when they shoot my other 9's side by side. My buddy has a Steyr M40-A1 that I shoot almost as good as my PPQ.
Several pistols have demonstrated comparable accuracy, but I've never had anything shoot better groups for me than the Swiss and German P210s. Was out a few days ago and had 7 rounds of ammo left in a box. Loaded that 7 rounds into a SIG P210. Shooting as carefully as I could from the bench, put all 7 rds. into 1.4" center to center at 25 yards. I have to admit that I'm no longer young, and realistically cannot expect to do better with any centerfire repeating pistol with iron sights.
Thought I was doing good till I saw Morgo's results
My 1911's are close, but my most inexpensive pistol in my collection is the sig sp2022. I still haven't found anything that shoots as well for me. It amazes me every time I take it out.
Lot of factors, but probably most important is trigger break. Cooper used to say it should break like the snapping of a glass rod. A surprise break is supposed to be conducive to good accuracy.
I don't think there is a pistol design that has a trigger that is as good, or the potential to be made very good, as the 1911.
I know this is a "Who is buried in Grant's tomb" answer, but hands down I will always shoot better with a target pistol. The Benellis' in both center-fire and rim-fire shoot great. For a standard target pistol, the tried and true High Standards shoot terrific. Other personal favorites are the FAS 602 and 603 rim-fire and center-fire respectively. There are many other good ones but these stand out in memory at this time.
It's a tie right now. I used to have a standard Glock 21 Gen 3 that I shot exceptionally well, even for me. My current go to semi is my Sig P320 in 9mm.
I think it was because the the Glock 21 fit my hand perfectly that I shot it so well. Go figure, the blockiest Glock fit my hand the best. Couldn't shoot a 17 or a 19 as well as it.
Whereas the P320 has trigger that makes it very easy to shoot well.
Taking this as a raw question, without any reading between the lines.
Ruger Charger Takedown. But for a more traditional gun, High Standard HD Military, and Browning Buckmark
I was shocked, but yea. My recently acquired CDP Ultra II. .45. Prior to that it was the M&P that I've got a bazillion rounds through. Something about that 1911.
