what rifle did the north koreans use?

But but but, I was watching M*A*S*H and they had AK47s! You guys are wrong. M*A*S*H is right, it has to be. It's TV!

probably those guys with AK47 in M*A*S*H* are very special forces who are trying to test soviet's top secret weapon project AK-47 in the actual battle field, just like US used naipalm(sp?) and bio weapon,

ps. BTW, no, I haven't go back or read newspaper since I did Great-Escape from south korean dictator in 1994,

Apparently, johnAK hasn't read any newspapers or watched any TV since 1994. That explains a lot.

He reminds me of a poster I once saw. It had a picture of really clueless looking squirrel with a caption,

Don't try to confuse me with facts - I've already made up my mind.

Art Eatman:

Good point abou being seriously OT. Here is an on-topic question for those knowledgeable about obscure Asian firearms:

What is the different between a Soviet-made Tokarev semi-auto pistol and the North Korean-made one?

What sidearm did NKPA officers use during the Korean War?

Anyone?

Skorzeny

I remember Moisin Nagants and PPSh sub guns on MASH, but I'm not certain whether I remember AKs or not.

The one scene that MIGHT have been an AK that I can recall was where Hawkeye and the character actor Mako (a North Korean) are trying to keep Mako's friend alive.

There's a great scene, also with Mako, that comes at the tail end of a scene with a Moisin-Nagant. Radar comes across a NK eating in the mess tent, and sees that he was a Nagant rifle.

Frank gets wind of it, and later is asleep when he hears Korean being spoken. He thinks the NK is back, and he tackles Mako, who is playing a ROK general inspecting the 4077.

Poor Frank. :)
