What pistols do you love so much you even enjoy cleaning them?

I love my 1911, don't like cleaning it. I don't like cleaning any gun. My P226 was super easy, so is my baby eagle/jericho. Frankly I just find the whole process messy

Tanfoglio Stock 10mm - I'm always impressed with the quality of this one.
Boberg XR9-S - Like looking at wizbang rocket science.
Sig X-Five - simply perfection!

I feel guilty if I do not clean after firing any of my firearms. I do admire my firearms. I do not fondle them or appreciate, vs. love, them anymore than say my antique clocks, pocket watches and even some of my wrist watches.

They are all just things which bring a measure of joy to my life.

I'd wager your question reveals more about the owner than the firearm. I'm a collector & tinkerer; I like to tinker (clean, polish internal parts, touch up blueing, try out various lubes & greases, ...) with my firearms as much as I shoot them. Some folks are shooters; if they never had to clean a gun it'd be fine with them.

With that said, I like the way the PPK & clones (p64, Makarov, FEG/PMK, ...) field strip for cleaning: pull the trigger guard down, run the slide way back, & lift off.

And then there's the baby Colt & clones breakdown: slide locked back, rotate barrel, (maybe slide to battery position & pull the trigger if striker fired), slide forward and off.

And the tokarev breakdown similar to the 1911...

My Glocks because I can disassemble them down to the bare frame in 30 seconds with just a punch. What other semi auto can you do that with?

Not a semi, but my GP100s. You can take all the way down to the tiniest parts in a minute or two. It's easy to clean and keep looking great.

On the auto side, probably my USP. It's just been such a great workhorse over the years. It feels good to take care of it even if it's not on my waist as much these days.

Love them all. Some are more difficult to take apart and put back together. One sure way to get phone call that you have to answer is to take a gun apart while you have flammable gun cleaner on your gloves.

All of them....including my Ruger 22/45!

(of course that is AFTER I put in the Tandemkross mag disconnect bushing and LCI filler. Easy to clean, easy to reassemble...what's not to like!)
