The only handgun that comes to mind is a S&W model 21 with a case hardened frame. If I could find one made without the lock in like new or excellent condition, I'd go for it.
I have a fondness for the look of case hardening. http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb197/farwalker/SWmod21.jpg
This image is of a model 21 with the lock. Hard to find without the lock.
But I purchased my first Freedom Arms single action revolver, large frame, 4 3/4" octagonal barrel in .357 mag late last yr...and I am considering another Freedom Arms ( basically the same gun ...in either .45 Colt or .44 mag )...
every time I shoot that new Freedom Arms...I'm amazed at the craftmanship...in that gun.
I'm assuming everyone is referring to 2013. Unless a really nice 2.5 inch SW Model 19/66 shows up, I think my only purchase this upcoming year will be HD shotgun.
It really depends on how funds look as we approach the end of the year. I've been looking to buy a 22lr rifle like the M&P15-22 or Mossberg Tactical22, and a 9mm pistol for carry and range use, probably an M&P9 or SR9c.
A G19 would be great too, but they seem to be always overpriced unless I buy police trade-ins
So far this year I have bought a Smith and Wesson MP 15 22 MOE with scope, rail covers, and grip, a Smith 37 airweight, a Glock 23 gen 4, and a Sig 229 extreme about a month ago. Next up is most likely a Sig 1911.
I've been trying to figure out how to finance a polymer 9mm. If I can get the funds together, and find a good deal on one, I'd like to buy a Ruger SR9c.
If by this year you mean the remainder of 2012, I really don't think any after thes several I've bought so far.
If you are looking into 2013, I still have my top list, and hope to check off a few. Charter Arms Bulldog-Just always wanted one. Although I have my CCW needs well covered it may also be added to the rotation. Taurus Tracker 992 4"SS-Another 22 rimfire range toy with the option of 22 WMR using the interchangeable cylinder. Kel-Tec PMR30-If the availability improves, and the prices drop to what they should be. Not MSRP or above as they are now in my area. Ruger Charger-Absolutely no reason. They just look like fun! CZ SP01 Shadow-Who doesn't need another 9MM?
Whatever the C&R millsurp market brings up at a reasonable price.
Either a large frame revolver like a 686 or GP-100 (only handgun type I don't have yet) or maybe a real nice compact 9mm like a H&K P2000sk - don't really need it but compact 9s seem the most practical to me and might as well buy a good one.
