What Kind of (Gun) Person Are you?

I consider myself a "handgunner". Judging by the number of post in the various forums it seems that many here are as well.
I grew up shooting a lot of trap. Something I enjoyed. I was a hunter growing up. Something that is almost a right of passage in rural areas. However as soon as I could convince my dad to allow it I started doing all my hunting with a handgun. On our regualr trips to the various local gun shops while my dad was looking over the counter at the long guns I had my nose pressed firmly to the handgun case. Not unlike the kids with their noses pressed to the candy case in so many "B" westerns. ;)
My primary love is for single actions and anything "cowboy". However I also have a great fondness for "N" frame Smiths and the classic 1911. I have rifles in my collection and a few shotguns but the handguns are what draws me.
Yes, I am a handgunner, pure and simple. What about you? What type of (gun) person are you?

Jeez... I love pistols, rifles, shotguns, blackpowder, militaria... I don't know that I can choose just one area to obsess upon. ;)

If a polymath is someone who knows something about a large variety of subjects, and a hoplophile is someone who likes weapons, then I guess I'm a hoplopolymathophile. :D
 
I'm with Oleg. I quit hunting a long time ago, never was into competition shooting. Not a collector or antiquarian. If I shoot at anything it will be because he's a violent threat to me and mine.
 
I guess I would have to say that my main passion is with handguns, All types ,All styles. If I like it I gotta have it :D. Mostly prefer the auto loaders though. I do have quite a few rifles and shotguns in my collection though. I started collecting the weapons of WWII which gets for the most part side tracked. But I do have a few. So my collection continues to grow and not just in one area. When I go to the range it is mostly to shoot handgun. Anyway that is my story so I guess for the most part I'm a handgunner :)

Rifles and Handguns. The bigger the BOOM the better. :D
Defensive, Hobby/Entertainment and Hunting. (In that order.)
What is realy great about it is my wife is on the same channel as me on the subject.
We mostly buy our guns in pairs together.
 
Oh, wait, I forgot, my favorite! (so, I have to change my mind...I'm very good at that, you know)
My favorite is a pump action shotgun because I like the sound it makes when you rack it(do you "rack" a shotgun?). If I could spell that sound, I would, but you get it!
Plus, they look cool, especially if I'm holding it because that image has a certain shock effect with a lot of people! :D
(I gotta get one a' them just so I can make that sound! :D :D :D)

BTW, if a polynada is someone who knows a lot about nothing, and a hoplophile is someone who likes weapons, then I guess I'm a polyhoplonadaphile! (haha!) ;)

Personally I grew up on hunting with shotguns but I'm starting to emphasize handguns more now. Shot my first .44 magnum 2 days ago and I'm hooked! I just don't have much use for rifles or even much chance to play with one. Dad's AR-15 is wasted at the short ranges I'm able to shoot--under 50 yards and usually closer to 25. I'd love to get a Garand and some room to play someday, though, just to see what it's like.
 
I have a disability that make me want all of them.

I think its called, gottahaveallgunsyndrom.
The only known cure is to get them all. :)

For one thing, I don't think such a thing
as a "Handgun" even existed until after I was
born, so I know I cain't be a handgunner, cause I shore ain't too shore what a handgun is.

I like to shoot, it's fun. I don't care what it is, from .17 pellets outta spring guns up to howitzers. It's all fun.
 
I suppose that I am the type of gun "person" who just plain appreciates firearms for what they are. They are useful tools, objects of the craftsmans as well as the artisans art and a great source of recreation and enjoyment for me.
 
Ahhh, the sweet sound of a racking pump, and watching the car thief wet himself with eyes big as saucers. I like em all but practice more, a lot, with the handguns.

I like BHP's, SAA's, Mauser's, FAL's, Garands, belt feds, black powder, MP-5's, Sterlings, 870's, M-1 Carbines's, and spudguns. I prefer 1911's for self defense and just shooting.
