I am definitely an enthusiast. I love to shoot, though I don't get to do it often.
I have never hunted, though I would like to someday.
HD is something that's not entirely off my mind. My wife and I have a plan in case of home invasion while we are home, which includes me getting the Mossy 500 from the closet safe in our room and loading it while my wife secures the baby. We then close off the "bedrooms" half of the house and I wait by the door and threaten as necessary.
Mostly though, I shoot .22, for cost and because honestly I like to see glass/clays/jars explode.
Even the "collector, don't shoot" applies in that there are a few guns that I own that I purchased just because I liked them, have never shot them, and have no intentions of ever shooting them (example: 1936 Mauser P08). In the same breath, however, I hunt, target shoot, etc.
I'm a gun enthusiast and like to shoot for fun
I use guns for HD (home defense)
I don't hunt with firearms (prefer bow - in fact I'm more accurate with a bow at 30 yards than I am with a handgun) nor do I consider myself a collector.
I do all the above, however, I find the hunt for the gun(collecting) is the most fun part. I enjoy hunting, but something about hunting for that one gun you just have to have is so exciting.
Other here...don't hunt, but own some as collector pieces that I don't shoot, enjoy shooting and go often with the other weapons I own, and also use my weapons for HD/SD.
