What keeps you from buying/owning more firearms?

Money and only money. This is a rather expensive interest/hobby. That said, even if money weren't an issue I doubt I'd have a 50 gun collection or something.
 
Lack of money (fixed income)
No room in safe (see above for extra safe thoughts)
Lack of time to shoot what I have
Starting to forget how to R&R existing guns
Pretty well satisfied (really?)
Need more ammo

Actually, I did just buy one a couple months ago, first in about 2 years, so I guess I'm not technically done.
 
As I was typing my previous response I forgot that technically I had purchased a "firearm" (stripped AR lower) less then 2 hours before posting on here :rolleyes::eek: so apparently a smaller stream of disposable income isn't actually stopping me... just slowing me down ;).

I must say, I will be most likely to have a redundancy of pistols. I can easily see owning multiple pistols which perform the same role.

What keeps me from buying or owning more firearms? I have a hard time finding guns that suit my needs and wants better than the ones I already have. When I do find a better gun, I get rid of the gun it replaces (who wants to keep an inferior gun?), so I don't end up with "more" guns.
 
My wife has actually gifted several guns to me, so she isn't the problem. I have enough money to buy some of the things I want, but the CA laws are terrible, and I don't have the time or money to go somewhere else to get guns.

I think that would be about it. Granted, there would be some sort of negative social stigma against someone with over 100 guns, wouldn't there? Probably... That would only work among others who are hardcore collecters, so maybe there are crowds like that in Texas for example. Maybe even Florida, Pennsylvania, but more than anything, more rural areas.

Even still, in my area (upstate NY) I feel like that would still be looked down upon, or at least given weird looks... Not sure, just my .02.
 
I can afford the guns I want and my wife never questions my gun buying - in fact, if she's with me and I'm struggling with deciding to buy, she'll always push really hard for me to buy it.

What stops me is personal responsibility - as it fits my life with my wife; has nothing to do with anyone else's responsibilities.

I don't buy everything I think I'd like to have - whether it's guns, cars, computers, or anything else. I don't generally eat that second piece of pie. I don't get the triple burger. I get the 10 oz steak instead of the 16 or 20 oz.

So, the reason I don't own more than I own is that I try not to be a gun-glutton.
 
Have owned over 60+ over the years .
Now down to a few .
If I Must leave home in a hurry no problem .
Had my fun now it's for protection only .
 
Need mo' money! I have plenty, don't get me wrong, but there are still a bunch more that I want. I really love 1911s and I intend to have one in .38 Super Auto and one in 10mm. That's going to burn close to three thousand dollars right there. I want a Ruger SR1911 as well, there's another $700, then there are four or five rifles that I really would like to have, and they'll require glass and one needs a suppressor... Now I'm depressed:(.
 
For me, it is also money. Not that I can't afford a lot of firearms, but it just does not make financial sense for me personally (having other bills to pay). The most I've owned at one time is 10 firearms, and I've downgraded since then.
