What is your Self Defense Revolver?

for me its primary carry is S&W 66-2, .357 mag with Hornady .357 -158 gr
xtp hps, for back up gun its S&W 637 38+p with remington 158 gr +p lhps.

4" stainless Ruger Security Six, loaded with 158 grain soft lead hollowpoints. Sometimes I switch it out with a S&W model 15-4, but the S&W is currently having light-strike problems and awaiting a tear-down, good cleaning, and spring kit.

I also have a 7.5" Ruger Bisley-Blackhawk in .45 Colt that I would be comfortable with as a HD gun, but I think the double-action 38's are a better choice.

Three of my revolvers are in my CCW/HD rotation:

S&W M36 no-dash loaded with Remington .38 Special 158gr LSWCHP +P
S&W M66-2 loaded with Remington .357 Magnum 158gr SJHP
S&W 629-6 loaded with Speer .44 Magnum 240 Gold Dots

While not regularly used for defense, I also own the following revolvers and keep at least a small amount of suitable ammunition on hand should they be pressed into SD service:

H&R 999 Sportsman with CCI .22 Long Rifle 40gr Velocitor
Webley Mk. IV with handloaded .38 S&W using 200gr LRN bullets
S&W M28-2 with Remington .357 Magnum 158gr SJHP or Cor-Bon 125gr SJHP

I also have previously owned the following revolvers and used the following ammunition with them:

Taurus 445 with CCI Blazer .44 Special 200gr Gold Dots
S&W M21-4 with Federal .44 Special 200gr LSWCHP
Ruger Redhawk with Remington .44 Magnum 240gr SJHP

Colt Trooper 357, S&W M-27 4", Dan Wesson M-15, S&W M-57 4". Factory SWCs in the M-57, still haven't settled on THE load in the others.

Normally I rotate 3 different autos as my CCW, depending on how I am dressed. Just added a revolver that I recently purchased, to the line up. I like carring it on the days I go to the range. S & W 66-4.

My wife carries a S&W 637 "Airweight" and I have a 3" barreled M-36. We both load with Remington's 125 gr JHP Golden Saber rounds, (pic'd 2nd from right below).

This week it is a S&W J frame with 158 gr LSWCHP +P. Next week it might be something else. I rotate the stock often.

For those of you who have chosen the .357 for self/home defense, what's your plan to address the extremely bright muzzle flash you're guaranteed to experience during a discharge in a darkened room, where most home invasions will occur?

this is nascar----I think i will let the bad guys on the other end of the
muzzle deal with that problem.......just sayin--:):)

Smith Model 65-3 loaded with Black Hills 125gr .357's. Everything I need and nothing I don't. The Black Hills load doesn't have any more perceived muzzle flash than a 9mm load.
