Semi auto pistols.

Today I found out that I can shoot the heck out of the paper target at 20 yards with my Glock 35, even the fastest follow up shots with some aiming still hit the 6-circle. It was really scary, full mag into the Glock, chamber a round and than a BANG! at every half second,.....and all shots hit the middle of the target....:D

I thought the revolver would be a good choice for me, but I cant shoot that fast and that accurate with any sixgun.

Semi Auto pistol chambered in 40S&W over a sixgun every day.

Laugh all you want my fav to carry is a two beretta 950 BS 25 acp. loaded with cor-bon JHP or hornady XTP+. never jammed, with new gen ammo hit's like hell, a lot harder then you think, and being well trained and tactically minded I don't think 9 rd's will not do the job.(plus the extra clips i carry)
that said i love my new Warthog, hard to not like a small but powerful gun in 45acp. Other then my beretta 92FS inox and a DE.50 I had to sell for medical reason's I haven't really owned a lot of different handgun's.
I see them as tool's. I find it just as important to learn tactic's
as much as caliber. face it a kid getting the drop on you with a 22LR
deringer in a vital has little bearing on what you carry. VDG

Ruger 357 DAO SP101.

Pull trigger...It go bang...No stove-pipes,etc...No worries about limp-wristing...Shoot from inside coat pocket or any position that you can get your finger on the trigger...No "Gee, did I grease it yesterday?"...No "Now that I have 12+ rounds to spray around the place let's see who else I can hit besides the BG."

My Grandpa's...

Ruger Security Six .357 Magnum 6" SS with Pachmayr Presentation Grips...Isn't that a mouthful :o. I love that gun to death and rumor has it that it'll be mine :D. I took my first kill with this weapon and I had the chance to carry it on private property! Man o' man was it a cool experince :)...I love wheel guns!

Revolvers, vs. Autos? To be honest I voted for the revolver as my favorite, My first several handguns were revolvers, and I still love the classics like a Colt Peacemaker, Smith and Wesson J, K, L, and N frames in various calibers. Even a single action Ruger or two, but I have my favorite autos also, like the 1911's, Smith 41. and a few others, but most of the new plastic breeds, don't trip my trigger all that much, even though I can appreciate a Glock, or a little Kel-tec for what they are.

For defense, the 1911 gets my vote, usually. But it depends on what I am doing, and I am just as confortable with a Colt Peacemaker, or a Smith 44 mountain gun, or even a Model 19 .357.
